We were not sure what to expect on our first trip to Sonoma, but this was a pleasant surprise. The cottages are modern and beautiful, with lovely Jacuzzi tubs, steam showers and fireplaces. The setting, overlooking a creek, is very pretty and is within walking distance to the quaint little village center. I suggest breakfast at the Glen Ellen market.... More

We had the pleasure of dining and 1 night stay over at the "Best" kept secret in Sonoma Valley. We spent Christmas Eve in Cottage #5 of the "Secret Cottages" which was a last minute decision that we're so happy we made. The cottage was warm and inviting set directly on the rivers edge. The decor was very charming with... More

This is the second time we've stayed in the cottages, and our second experience is just as great as the first. We've stayed in #4 and this time #7, and we found them both large, comfortable, very clean and well equipped, and perfect for a romantic stay. On top of this are the excellent scones and cookies made in the... More

We first stayed in the Secret Cottages in 2008. It was incredible. The husband and wife owner were wonderful. It became a very special place for us, and we even got engaged in one of the cottages two years later. We celebrated at the restaurant with the entire kitchen staff. We return each year to one of the best hidden-gem... More

These are cute cottages behind a $$$ restaurant. We arrived in the evening, so I did not really get to experience as much as I would have liked. The rooms were clean, nicely appointed and had a comfy bed. The restaurant was pricier than we wanted for this late evening meal. Breakfast was in a basket in the room. Fresh... More

Absolutely one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. We were pleasantly surprised when we opened the door to our cottage. Lovely fireplace with a sitting area. A four poster bed and a big bathroom with a steam shower. Wonderful basket full of fruit and goodies to munch on upon arrival or to save for breakfast in the morning.... More

We stayed in room 6. The cottage was clean, but things like the fireplace not working, and the spa sounding like you had your head out the window of a freight train were a bit disappointing. When we got back from our second day of touring the maids had even left the front windows open so that anyone could have... More

We spent two nights in Cottage #1 and loved it. The room was very clean and well decorated; it even had a nice jacuzzi tub (which we didn't use...California is in a drought!). The basket of fruit and homemade baked goodies was a nice touch. We enjoyed sipping our coffee and eating the scones out on the communal porch area... More

We came to the Inn for a night on our 2-week honeymoon. We wanted to stay one more night in the Sonoma vicinity and figured we'd check out the Glen Ellen area. We stayed in cottage #2 on a Friday and paid $239 a discounted rate. We had read good reviews on the Inn and were excited to stay.  The... More

I never want to leave this place....whether for lunch/dinner or staying in one of the cottages. Perfect place to spend a couple days, ditch the car and explore the charming town of Glen Ellen. Rooms are darling, and nicely appointed. This is NOT a high-end spa experience like so many of the other options for lodging, but a fantastic alternative.... More
