We enjoyed our stay but mostly were happy with the location. Agree heartily that this is a personal business and would have liked to see the owner more. When you hire people to do everything it is not what we think of as a B&B. more

We greatly enjoyed our recent stay for our daughter's wedding in Glen Ellen. Nice clean rooms, beautiful trees and gardens, a terrace to take in the breeze or have that afternoon wine snack. Staff could not have been nicer. I enthusiastically recommend this place as it is quiet, small and well located. more
My husband and I stayed on Monday, October 27th. It appeared there were only two other guest rooms occupied the night we were there, so it was nice and quiet. We absolutely loved the overall atmosphere of the place. Lovely trees, tranquil outddoor seating for a picnic, the main dining area was spotless and lovely. We spent a little time... more
This was our first time staying at the Inn. As soon as we arrived, we felt relaxed. The entire property exudes comfort and relaxation. We stayed in the beautiful Ingrid's Garden cottage. The bed was so comfy, I got back in right after breakfast and stayed there most of the day! I also used the jacuzzi style tub. It was... more
We were very excited about what we read on the website, but our experience did not match up. First, our greeting was very cold. We asked for early check-in, by email, and never received a response. When we arrived about 1 hour before check in time, we were told to come back later--not the kind of response you want to... more
My husband and I have stayed at many B&Bs in the US and Europe, and particularly in California wine country areas. Why does one stay at a B&B? Generally for personalized experience where you are made to feel welcome and special. On a recent trip to the Glenelly Inn in Glen Ellen, CA, none of that was present. The innkeeper... more
We are sorry that some reviewers have felt the assistant innkeeper at the Glenelly was unwelcoming. She works very hard here at the inn, 8-10 hours per day. It is sometimes disconcerting when guests arrive far earlier than the check-in time that is posted on our website and reiterated in our confirmation letters wihtout any warning, expecting us to be...
There were 5 of us girls that wanted to stay in one room since we have not been together in years. Glenelly Inn provided us with enough room to all stay together. The host added an aero bed which was adequate as was the one bathroom. Bathroom was large and had a couple mirrors in it. The front porch of... more
For my sister's 30th birthday I wanted to do something fun, relaxing and fabulous! So, I took her to Sonoma for a wine tasting weekend. After a long search, I found Glenelly Inn, a bed & breakfast in Glen Ellen. There are many great things about the Inn, best of all, the amazing breakfast! Each morning a home cooked breakfast... more
Well, if you read the website and expect a warm welcome and special treatment-- you will be disappointed. Our stay was just just okay-- nothing special. The mgmt never welcomed us or asked about our stay - not once. I have never stayed at an Inn where no one welcomed us or asked if we were enjoying our stay. It... more
Great place in a marvellous area. We really took time to sit in the garden as this was better than any terrace or restaurant in the area. Breakfast was also great and right in quantity. We were really sad not to stay longer.... more
