We just returned from a two night stay in the Tenaya, 9 of us, and had a wonderful experience overall. The front desk staff helped us through some confusion in our reservation, resolved the next morning with the manager. They couldn't have been more gracious. The rooms were lovely, the food very good, the atmosphere beautiful and restful, the pool... More

This is a great option for visiting Yosemite! I definitely liked being right outside the park as it was much easier to access as well as go out for dinners, etc. We stayed in a cottage room; it was very spacious (aside from the bathroom). The outdoor pool is a great place to relax after a long day in the... More

Attended a weeks worth of meetings here, early June of this year. Lovely place, but was Astounded that, not one , or two mornings but 4 mornings in a row, was unable to draw a consistently warm shower. Our friends staying across the hall, had the same issue. Also found their buffalo burger Very greasy. the indoor pool was a wow, not... More

This resort has one huge advantage - it is the only nice lodging within 2 miles of Yosemite's south entrance. I stayed in one of the Cottages which are slightly away from the main resort building. My advice is that you will be happy as long as you set your expectations to average. This property can't decide if it wants... More

I stayed here on a pure Yosemite hiking trip with my brothers because nothing else was available in the valley. I wasn't really there for the resort experience. It's expensive....but, if you have the $$, and you want a family resort vacation, this place is great. It's very well kept - it's clean, well landscaped, has a great pool and... More

I was there the first week of June 2012 with my wife and 2 kids (3 years old and 4 month old). My wife was there for a conference, I was there with the kids for fun and to visit Yosemite. We stayed 5 nights there (Sunday to Friday) in an extended deluxe room with 2 breakfast included (California Bed... More

Management response:

Wow - thank you very much for taking the time to offer your valuable thoughts and insights. Because of our remote national forest location, our cost to provide guest WiFi is much higher than a city hotel, for example, and we do have a per-room WiFi fee. However, you can connect up to three devices per room without additional fee... More

Stayed at Tenaya Lodge for 3 days in May. 2nd time we have been there. Place is gorgeous, staff is wonderful, and the 3 resturants all have excellent food, especially the lounge and their homemade potato chips. Fabulous. We will diffinitely stay here again the next time we come to Yosemite. Would highly reccommend this place.

You're paying quite a bit extra for this place, but if you can afford it, it's probably worth it, particularly if your goal is to get some R&R. The cabins are great, with fireplace, and roomy. Comfy bed. The breakfast buffet that came with out package is outstanding. The pool and hot tub are nothing special; they're in separate rooms... More

Unfortunately, all the hotels in Yosemite Park were fully booked so we were quite a way out. If you don't like heights you won't like the journey to the hotel! Very high cliffs with minimal barriers. The room was a nice size and we could park right outside. There is a pool, although quite small and lots of kids splashing... More

Embers is the name of our fine dining restaurant, it's a favorite of many guests. The Embers menu changes every three weeks or so to feature the freshest local and seasonal ingredients. Thanks for your complementary review, hope we can welcome you back again soon! More

All in all, pricey for what you get. You are a captive audience in the location near Yosemite Park and because of that, you can be forced to pay a lot of money for a room. There is not a lot of competition for what should be a nice hotel. The room: The hot water did not work well in... More

Thank you very much for your compliments, and also for bringing your concerns to our attention. We are working on the water temperature problem you experienced in your room. The in-room makeup mirrors generally win a lot of guest praise for their built-in lighting, we're sorry that you found the way it was mounted challenging to use. They do hang... More
