A big surprise on our 15 day long roadtrip, was the fact ,that we got the best breakfast and the best evening meal, at White Chief Mountain Lodge. Ben, the chef, not only cooked good meals, he put his heart in making it looking faboulus, with strawberries, melons and other good and healthy eatable "decorations". Also the new, young waitress,... Great staff, lovely breakfast, 2 miles from the south entrance of Yosemite park. Very helpful giving directions and where and/or what to do in Yosemite park. Even though they had some trouble with the electricity due to a fire, they helped everyone as good as possible.

My husband and I wanted a relatively inexpensive getaway before welcoming our first child into our lives, so we booked this hotel. The location was great, but not worth it. The rooms are small, which isn't a big deal when you're spending most of your time outdoors, but the room was dark and dingy. The lack of light should have... More

For those who are picky, and want a fancy room, this is definitely NOT the place for you. But if you are looking for a place to stay to lay your head after a long day in the park, then book here. We stayed here coz of its proximity to the the south entrance (just 5 mins drive) and the... More

This Lodge was in an excellent location for visiting Yosemite. We stayed one night but in the afternoon we very able to visit the Mariposa Forest and tall trees and have a meal at Wawona Hotel, visiting the hostoria village there.

We were there for 1 night…hopefully only this one night. We got the only room without window and directly near another room which serves to do many things but especially lots of noise! So some of the staff goes in and out late by night and of course very early in the morning. They talked loud and absolutely didn't take... More

My cousin and I had a three night stay at White Chief. It was wonderful. Staff went above and beyond, the room had a retro feel and was very comfortable. The restaurant served great food and is trying to expand to open a bar also. This is an old chinchilla farm from the 50's. Perfect setting in the trees.A few... More

The young staff was always friendly, available, and helpful. We had a heating problem initially but it was immediately corrected. Bedding and linen were fresh and seemed brand new. Plenty of hot water after a day of hiking. Best feature is close proximity to Yosemite. We enjoyed sitting on the room's porch relaxing and looking into the trees. The room... More

This place was a great location for visiting Yosemite, which was a purpose for the stay, but the hotel really was not good. Rooms very basic, carpets looked so dirty I wore shoes at all times. Very badly lit, coffee machine had to be put on the floor to reach electric socket. There were extension leads everywhere (not very safety... More

Not worth price....outdated, wet carpet from clogged shower drain, had to ask for towels, had to wait until 3:00 to check in......avoid this.....for same price you can stay in wonderful Wawona hotel inside Yosemite Park!
