We were there for 1 night…hopefully only this one night. We got the only room without window and directly near another room which serves to do many things but especially lots of noise! So some of the staff goes in and out late by night and of course very early in the morning. They talked loud and absolutely didn't take... More

My cousin and I had a three night stay at White Chief. It was wonderful. Staff went above and beyond, the room had a retro feel and was very comfortable. The restaurant served great food and is trying to expand to open a bar also. This is an old chinchilla farm from the 50's. Perfect setting in the trees.A few... More

The young staff was always friendly, available, and helpful. We had a heating problem initially but it was immediately corrected. Bedding and linen were fresh and seemed brand new. Plenty of hot water after a day of hiking. Best feature is close proximity to Yosemite. We enjoyed sitting on the room's porch relaxing and looking into the trees. The room... More

This place was a great location for visiting Yosemite, which was a purpose for the stay, but the hotel really was not good. Rooms very basic, carpets looked so dirty I wore shoes at all times. Very badly lit, coffee machine had to be put on the floor to reach electric socket. There were extension leads everywhere (not very safety... More

Not worth price....outdated, wet carpet from clogged shower drain, had to ask for towels, had to wait until 3:00 to check in......avoid this.....for same price you can stay in wonderful Wawona hotel inside Yosemite Park!

- even though very basic but location is good - very friendly front desk staff - value for money because of no so many other choices - the heater and some lamps not functional well - free wireless net work which is good for people who wanna spend more time in Yosemite

This is the perfect example about why location location location is not always best. To say that this motel is of another era and not up to any rasonable level of standards does it a favor. THE ONLY THING THEY HAVE GOING FOR THEMSELVES IS THEIR PEOPLE. THEY ARE VERY NICE AND PLEASANT. The shower was a complete puzzlement and... More

No hot water in the shower. The toilet flush did not work. When we reported the problems, staff's only reaction was that acknowledged that they know about these issues. Apparently these did not happen only to us, but its is a recurring issue. They promised to give a discount from the price, but it has never been credited to my... More

We would not recommend this hotel. Staff was friendly and tried it's best. Rooms were very old furnished and bathroom was not very clean. Very good location, being directly at the South gate of the Yosemity park.

The lodge is located just 2 miles outside the south gate of the Yosemite in beautiful rustic surrounds. The rooms are very small with a small, but comfortable double bed with good linen and nice towels. The shower runs strong and hot. The building is a dormitory of single rooms. The room charge was $90.00 per night. Breakfast is a... More
