Stayed 3 nights in which we enjoyed the peace & quiet of the area from our balcony. The room including shower room were fine & functional. We were only able to dine in once, as the dining room is closed Monday & Tuesdays, so we went to the Tenaya Lodge some 2 miles away, which was OK (would not wish... more

We stayed for two nights to see Yosemite. The drive in is around 40 minutes and if I was staying longer I would have mixed this with a stay in the park itself. Our room was tastefully furnished and we experienced good service. The bar is splendid and the food good - if a little on the high price side.... more

We stayed at this little inn over the past weekend and found it to be low-key but well-kept. We ate at the attached restaurant and had a terrific dinner with great service. The view from our balcony was relaxing. The room itself was very clean but hot during the day. The a/c unit had to work overtime to keep up... more

The rooms are small and at night the temperature stays high. But if you can handle this: you will have a nice view from you balcony and will be no more than a few steps away from a very good restaurant and Yosemite valley is not more then 40 minutes away. It is value for money. more

The Narrow Gauge is very cute and quaint but don't bother trying to plan a event there. The owners are wonderful but the catering manager is impossible to communicate with. She doesn't return emails or phone calls and appears to not want your business. We became so frustrated we stopped trying and went someone else. Too bad, its a nice... more

I'm sorry you feel that you did not receive proper service and I am addressing your specific issue with our Events Planner. Over the last 8 years, we have had dozens of rehearsal dinners, weddings and receptions take place at the Narrow Gauge Inn. We are thrilled and honored when a couple chooses our Inn for the day of their...

Older property, but very well maintained. Arrived a day early and they where nice about our room, we did have to change rooms but they moved our suitcases for us. Had a lovely deck which we used. No problem without A/C, with overhead fan and open windows it was perfect. Resturant is excellent, good food, and great service. Enjoyed after... more

We planned a scenic roadtrip from Sacramento,CA to Tucson, AZ so we could hit Yosemite and Seqouia along the way. I had booked the Narrow Gauge Inn because of its close proximity to the Parks exit which we would be leaving. After a long day of hiking and other adventures Narrow Gauge was just the charming place we desired. Rooms... more

My husband and I just returned from our first trip to Yosemite and the Narrrow Gauge Inn. The Inn is located just 4 miles from the South entrance to the park. We booked a king bed room that had a lovely view. It was clean, quiet, and nicely decorated. All the staff was nice and helpful with tips on the... more

We enjoyed our stay, even adding additional nights after our initial night. Our room overlooked a creek and forested area. We slept well, the room was tidy. Hot tub reservations were required, and we enjoyed our designated time. Had a wonderful dinner at the restaurant one evening. Rode the adjacent train one time - it is a slow moving train... more

Stayed 2 nights in rm 25. Rm is located next to office/office break rm/gift shop so you can hear everything the employees are saying. We did feel as though someone had entered the rm the last night of our stay while we were out. We did lock all windows, closed drapes, & locked door before leaving. Our bag was unzipped... more
