IN April 2013 we spent two days in this excellent Hotel. The Hotel is located in the wonderful nature of the Yosemite/San Juan valley (just 1 hour from the Yosemite village). The rooms are very compfortable and perfectly clean. Every detail is exquisitely chosen in a harmonious way. The personnell is very gentle and nice. AND THE FOOD IS GREAT.... More

We stayed here for two night in September as all the options in Yoesemite were either booked up or really pricey and it was really lovely. Location wise it is just by the south gate, but is bit of a drive to the main site. We arrived pretty late so the reception had closed but they had left our key... More

Nice little place. Friendly service. Immaculate housekeeping. It's very close to the South YOSEMITE gate (close proximity to the Mariposa Grove Sequoias & Badger Pass). But the main valley floor where the big sights are like Half Dome is over one winding hour away. Beautiful drive though. I would go back to Narrow Gauge gladly.

We booked this out of the lonely planet guide while enroute to Yosemite. It is a delightful, old world Inn in a peaceful location just outside Yosemite national park. The rooms are simple but comfortable, the food is excellent. We had our wedding anniversary dinner there and it was perfect. It is right next to the sugar pine railway which... More

I was looking for a decent hotel that's inside the Sierra Nevada protected zone (which includes Yosemite itself and the surrounding forests) that's not too expensive. So this hotel is about a 4 minute drive from the entrance to Yosemite (could be 10 minutes if the roads are snowy) and about an hour from the Yosemit Valley which is the... More

We came here on Thanksgiving weekend from LA. It was our first trip to Yosemite so we didn't really know what we were doing. Easy to find the hotel off the 41. Parking lot was not full at all so parking was easy. We checked in and went to our room which was really cute. We didn't get room 25,... More

i really loved this property, it has perfect mountain feel in its location, rooms, furnitures..on everything. but what bothers me, is lack of microwave/refrigerator in room. the restaurant was closed because of winter season (i was not aware of this before booking this property), and the nearest food options were in nearby Tenaya Lodge (2 miles north) or in Oakhurst... what a find!! Totally affordable 7 minutes to the south gate of yosemite. The staff was awesome. Yes we were stoked. Checked in no problems got a great room with a view and it was cozy on a cold fall evening. We came in and out of yosemite with no problems. Highly recommend this.

This inn is quite a drive from Yosemite Valley. You need to be aware of that. We stayed there for a night on our way out of Yosemite National Park, and we are glad we did. After the hectic hyper atmosphere at the more popular stops in Yosemite, the Narrow Gauge was a welcome and secluded respite for us. It... More
