We booked last minute to stay one night at The Narrow Gauge Inn for a trip to Yosemite in April. Having not been to the area before, I was unsure how things were located, I'm aware that there is limited lodging in the park itself but this seemed a lot more expensive. As it turned out, the Narrow Gauge was... More

Lovely big room, nicely furnished, great location, great breakfast - highly recommended! Easy to miss but worth seeking out, this authentic wooden lodge is a great location for your base while exploring Yosemite. Loved our stay and can't wait to come again.

We traveled to Narrow Gauge Inn at the end of March to explore some of Yosemite. We were about 20 minutes away from the South gate of Yosemite. We arrived early to the hotel and hoped to check in, but our rooms were not available. We walked around the grounds and then went into Yosemite for a little while. When... More

We stayed in March, so had winter rates which are extremely reasonable. Our room was on the corner with views out to the hills and the forest. Big comfortable king size bed and a nice balcony overlooking the forest. Good breakfast included with delicious strawberry waffles available on request.

Stayed here for 3 nights recently and it was a lot cheaper than anything within the park. Great location, although if you're visiting Yosemite valley for more than a few days the 45 minute drive each way could get a bit much. The rooms are clean and decently equipped, but a little dated and the walls a bit thin. The... More

I really found this place charming. Motel-like at first glance (side by side rooms with individual doors touching the parking lot), we were pleasantly surprised to find high ceilings, exposed beams and a deck that overlooked a beautiful piece of forest. It was Perfect for wine in a wooden rocking chair at sunset. Other adorable features included several trails wandering... More

My husband and I stayed here for a few days in Feb. while we were in Yosemite for a family wedding. This property is like stepping back into . . . a more quaint, rustic time with modern amenities. Our room was perfect in size, bathroom was nice, shower a bit small and we did have a bit of a... More

We opted to stay here whilst on a road trip around California, as a base from which to explore Yosemite. It's true you can stay closer to the valley, even in it if you opt for the Ahwahnee Hotel (which looked nice when we visited), but we wanted to be slightly outside. Worth sticking up at the supermarket in Oakhurst... More

Sweet little Inn. Rooms are old school, woodsy and appropriate for the venue. Beds are great and bathroom is homey Free breakfast with fresh Belgian waffles topped with whipped cream and strawberries. Very clean. Definitely a great choice. The price was great too off season.

This is the sweetest little secret inn tucked back in the woods. The 1920s atmosphere is so much fun, and the beds are cozy and warm. Breakfast the next morning was cooked and served in the dining hall, which is like a long-ago lodge for north-bound travelers. Plus, it's right on the edge of the park. Will return every time...
