I have been spending my summer holiday in kithira from several years. "Portari houses" is the best place to stay in the island because is beautiful and confortable. Perfect the location, in the middle of the island, so you can easily reach the most impressive beaches or the main villages. Amazing the houses you can rent, for the excuisite taste... More

After 4 years we returned to Kythira and the Portari Cottage. The good news: nothing has changed! The cottage is so beautiful, so well equipped, located between 2 old ruins and a short walk to a kafenion or supermarket. The cottage is very private with 2 outdoor spaces (one is a roof top area) and it is very quiet. Morfia... More

Choose a place of accommodation to Kythera is not an easy task ! To stay 11 days, we opted for Portari House II in Aroniadika, in the center of the island (6 days) and the Villa Venus, south-east and near to the sea (5 days). 10/10 at Morfia, the owner of Portari, for its hospitality, availability and generosity. All at... More

We stayed at the Spitaki (Small House) which is nestled between old stone buildings in a picturesque little alley of this centrally-placed village. Evmorfia, the owner, was extremely welcoming and hospitable, and within half an hour of our arrival had led us on an oral whistlestop tour of the island pinpointing the best beaches, restaurants, shops (not to mention the... We stayed 5 days and loved it! We are from Ny- wanted to get away to a small island in Greece with good food and gorgeous beaches- we got just that. Potari is great because you can get to anywhere in the island in a short amount of time. The interior decor is very cool/hip. Brand new. Miele appliances...everything you... More

This was our second visit in Portari houses. We really love this place. If you are looking for peace and quiet in a lovely set up then this is the place for you. This year the big bonus was that when we arrived the apricot tree in the garden was full of apricots so every morning we would pick up... More

We stayed 8 days in Portari during the 2nd half of May 2013. We can only warmly recommend the houses as well as the island. The Portari houses are a quite outstanding blend of traditional architecture and a very tasteful and modern interior decoration surrounded by a lovely garden (the beautiful and very professional photos are no exaggeration, the place... Come to Kythira if you love nature, mediterranean food and can't never have enough sea views. The island has some spectacular wild beaches, stunning views of the Peloponnese and a changing landscape. We fell for the Kythira the moment we stepped out of the airplane. Portari houses are located in a nice traditional village, right in the middle of the... More

A charming and aesthetically very pleasing 3-house complex with clean lines and modern design but in keeping with the island's architecture, it has well equipped kitchens, fine linen, comfortable mattresses and fluffy pillows, guaranteeing quiet relaxation with views over the the hills and nearby villages. A large shaded veranda, a vegetable garden from where you can pick your own vegetables... More
