I stayed for one night in Eureka at the Carter House Inn. It is a very nice place and walking distance to the old town. It is an old house though, so you can hear your neighbours use the shower or walk by. So someone with a light sleep might have problems with it. Other than that everything was great.

This was a great B&B. I stayed in Bell cottage which is perfect for a solo traveler. The staff is exceptional. The location is right next to old town. A lot of homeless people nearby but they are harmless. I probably won't be coming back to Eureaka, but if I do, I'll definitely stay here again

The Carter House Inns are an unexpected surprise in Eureka. The look and feel is quite sophisticated for the area, but the reality doesn't always meet expectations. The main house has an inviting lobby and small, but attractive bar. There are three floors of rooms in the main house and additional rooms in a house across the street. The rooms... More

Found the Carter House Inn after rejecting other accommodations in Eureka. My girlfriend and I were totally surprised and very pleased at the level of excellence we encountered in the accommodation, service and food. A truly unexpected and pleasant surprise that saved the day.

Although Eureka doesn't have much to offer, we overall enjoyed our stay. The Inn is beautiful and quite historic. We were warmly greeted on arrival, and then led to our room which was lovely. The walls are paper thin but it is to be expected in any old building. We weren't hungry so we just ordered a soup and salad... More

Found this quality hotel and made reservations online. It's clean, comfortable, and probably what hotels were like at the turn of the century but modern. No need to worry about quality of facility or noise. It's relaxing, though you can hear cars and an occasional loud person on the street below, but that's sort of expected in this semi-residential neighborhood.

Eureka is a funny little place, once you have explored it it is very nice to walk around. Carter house inn is classy and calm with very friendly and welcoming staff. Our room was on the ground floor and was sufficiently well equipped, if a little on the small side. Great great cocktails and batman who will make customised cocktails... More

One of the reasons I opened up a Trip Advisor account was so I could write a review for this hotel. The staff of the hotel were unassuming, showed great local knowledge, and provided a level of service that sets this place out from others. The décor of our room was classy, not over the top, just classy in a... More

We stayed at the Carter House Inn both going south from our home on the Oregon coast and returning from a visit to San Rafael, CA. Thanks to Trip Advisor, we had experienced a superb dinner at the hotel a couple of years earlier and decided on this trip to not only go back for the food, but to also... More

I liked everything about the Carter House: the spacious room, wonderful fireplace, large bath with whirlpool, attention to detail (one of the few rooms I've found in years that actually had two luggage racks!) and spectacular food both for dinner and breakfast. I would stay here again in a minute and not think twice about whether or not it is... More
