Our one-night stay at the Carter House Inn was a great experience. Eureka itself is an odd little town, but the Carter House is reason enough to stop here. Eureka is known for its Victorian architecture, which I have to admit is not my favorite. That said, the design of the Carter House is done in a tasteful way, mixing... More

Charming renovated historic inn on the east side of Old Town Eureka. Allows walking to all of old town. Despite it's historic character and charm it has all the amenities of a modern hotel. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was included-the restaurant "301"- needs some staffing help and expertise.

Stopped over at the Carter House on a road trip from Oregon to California. It was a halfway point on the trip and I wanted to make sure that we had an opportunity to see some of the coast. The CH staff was excellent. They were prepare for our arrival, even though we missed the wine hour they still gave... More

We stayed in the main hotel building where the restaurant is located. There are more lodgings across the street. The buildings and rooms are very well kept and the staff is very professional. Our room was on the first floor facing the back of the building. Because of this we were subjected to a lot of early morning noise from... More

Spent only one night here but that was not long enough. The hotel was wonderful. The room was nicely decorated and the queen bed was very comfortable. The staff was super friendly and helpful. JonCarlos helped us with our luggage since my wife is on crutches, made dinner reservations in the hotel restaurant and even brought us a bucket of... More

The Hotel is a beautiful historic building. The service was generally very good and friendly, but the staff members we encountered all seemed to be junior level. It felt as if management was absent. Our room, though very nice, did not live up to the impression given by the hotel's web site. The bar area is very cozy. We enjoyed... More

This hotel is easy to find in the nicest part of downtown Eureka, near the marina (actually two building - check into the one with the restaurant). This well-restored older building has an inviting lobby with high ceilings and huge windows. The lobby is so nice that it's actually a great place to hang out with a glass of wine... More

My wife and I had a wonderful time at the Carter House Inns. The desk clerk very graciously offered us a free upgrade to one of the nicest rooms I've ever stayed in. It was spacious and beautiful. The complimentary breakfast the first morning was excellent, and our server was efficient and friendly. That said, there were issues. Breakfast the... More

I stayed two days in this wonderful hotel. Had a beautiful suite in the main bldg. I would recommend this hotel to everybody. They are also pet friendly 🐾🐾 Breakfast is included with your room, they serve wine in the afternoon and at night they light the big wood burning fireplace! They serve freshly baked cookies and serve a wide... More

The Carter House Inn offered a beautiful room, very tastefully decorated in soft hues. The beds were comfortable with loads of pillows and blankets. The bathrooms and shower was very modern and clean, clean, clean. There was on-ground parking. The front desk staff were pleasant and helpful. The wi-fi was free and quite strong. We had an issue at night... More
