We were booked into this property by our travel consultant and knew very little about it. Was very happy with her selection. We stayed in the main building on the second floor. The room was small but adequate. They had a well stocked "honor basket", free wifi and the usual bathroom amenities but also had bathrobes - a nice touch.... More

Spent three nights here during mid-week, and the location is good, in the historic part of downtown Eureka, close to great coffee shops and bookstores, and I found an interesting clothing store that had some fantastic stuff. Room was very clean and comfortable, and was kept nicely cleaned by staff throughout my stay. I opted for one of the "deluxe"... More

We recently stayed at the Carter House in a beautiful suite on the third floor. Overall a wonderful experience. The room was elegant and service wonderful. We also dined at the on premise 301 Restaurant for dinner. The wine list is the most extensive I have seen in 20 years. Food also spectacular . You can't go wrong here!

Was supposed to stay a week, left after 3 days. Overrated, overpriced, second rate. I checked in to the Carter house with great expectations. Immediately impressed by the staffs friendliness and accommodation. Enjoyed the free glass of wine! Stayed for a beverage at the bar with Allie, an amazing bartender if ever there was one. From the wait staff in the... More

We enjoyed our stay at the Carter House. Beautiful rooms, great location staff was friendly, but to get the five rating they could improve some smaller touches, ie refill the coffee after we used it the first morning, keeping the kitchen common area equipped with wine glasses, have an ice maker in the freezer. Still, a great experience, but room... More

We found our stay at Carter House Inns very enjoyable. The accommodations had a pleasant vintage feel and the staff were very attentive. The sheets and towels were incredibly plush and luxurious. The dinner was delicious in their restaurant and the included breakfast was ample and very good. It was a great beginning for our vacation.

Our stay at the Carter House Inns could not have been any better. Warm welcome, excellent staff and service, gorgeous rooms, all wrapped in an extraordinary building made us feel like there was no better place to be. The breakfast made leaving even more difficult. Excellent buffet with hot prepared omelet made me want to curl up for an extended... More

There is a restaurant and rooms in another building across the road from the yellow Carters Inn. Makes such a beautiful photo. Find these buildings on L lane in old town just down from Carson Mansion and Pink Lady on M. You can't miss the yellow amazing building. Photos at night with lights on is amazing.

The Carter House Inns did not disappoint. The room was immaculate and beautifully decorated. The staff, both at reception and in the dining room were very friendly, professional and helpful. The food in the dining room was also extremely well presented and very flavourful. The thing that sticks out most in my mind is the incredibly plush towels and bath... More

I can't tell you how happy we were. We came to see the Redwoods ( on our top 10 bucket list ). I have not relaxed like this in 30years. Loved the city and it's little gems like Brick and Fire Bistro to 2nd street with all the little shops. The staff was fantastic especially the bar tender. The room... More
