This is by far one of the nicest places we have ever stayed over the years. From the moment you walk in the door you are surrounded by comfortable elegance, charm, and hospitality. The young lady who "took us over", Elena, was pretty, very bright, and very well mannered. Our first floor room was perfect (there were four rooms on... More

My husband and I were driving up the coast of California and wanted nice bed and breakfast accomodations. Our stay at Carter House Inns was great, the hotel staff was knowledgeable about the area and our room was very clean (a must!). There is anjoining restaurant to the main building and it was pretty busy on the Thursday we got... More

My husband and I just recently visited the beautiful Carter House Inn in Eureka for our 5 year anniversary. From the minute we arrived, everyone at the hotel made us feel so special and looked after. We had a couples massage in our UPGRADED suite, which was fantastic. The happy hour in the bar with the complimentary glass of wine... More

Despite a busy hotel weekend in Eureka, we were able to find a room in one of this hotel's cottage properties (Bell Cottage). The three separate buildings are on two opposite corners with remarkably easy access to Highway 101. The neighborhood is quiet and filled with Victorian style homes. The main building has a unique check in desk that is... More

Stayed here with my husband. Rooms are nice, but a bit small. We paid for deluxe "queen". It seemed like a standard double with a queen headboard. I'd ask about that next time. The service was excellent, very helpful and accommodating. We canceled our dinner reservations at the last minute and they were totally ok with that. A full breakfast... More

when I travel to eureka for business, there is no other hotel I would stay at but the Carter House. It's a full service hotel with great staff, food, ambience, and class. It's my home away from home for the past 5 years. Joan

For one reason or another we decided to break the journey from San Fran to Portland mid way which is Eureka, finding very little accommodation we chose Carter House which on the whole was a nice place let down by noisey neighbours, rumbling garbage trucks, a window that wouldn't close and a lumpy bed. Staff were all fantastic, dinner was... More

Congrats to the new bride, but for me it sucked, we arrived about 7:00 pm August 1st our 27th anniversary, to find the hotel lobby and restaurant full of wedding party guess, we had to find someone to check us in, then we were told that the restaurant was just for the party, after driving all day to get here,... We stayed here on our trip down the coast from Oregon to San Francisco and were so pleased with EVERYTHING. The room was lovely and comfortable and the sheets heavenly. Great quality in everything else too, especially toiletries. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and breakfast at the restaurant on the main floor, and highly recommend it. The service is unpretentious...
