We made our first trip to this area over the July 4th holiday weekend. We had heard good things about the hotel, which were all true, but somewhat mixed things about Eureka. Well, we actually really enjoyed the town, both for its uniqueness, and for its location. We went North or South each day to explore the Redwoods, the Mountains,... more

The service was excellent at this hotel/bed and breakfast. The rooms were tidy and comfortable with flat screen, DVD player and satellite TV. Breakfast served in the corner dining room was excellent. Diner at the restaurant was delicious as well but quite pricey although according to them, it is the best restaurant in tow. I will recommend to all people... more

We Booked the least expensive room and was pleasantly surprised with our accommodations. Very comfortable bed and bedding. NIcely furnished although the armoire, which housed the TV, had door which, when opened, interfered with the space. Dinner was excellent but pricey. Staff both at dinner and concierge was extremely friendly, helpful and efficient. Morning breakfast service was not as good.... more

As a four star hotel, I found Carter House Inn sadly lacking. The room was very small, the bathroom had water stains all over the tub surround and looked dirty. The toilettries offered were akin to Ivory soap which I would not expect at a better hotel. I liked the high ceilings and big windows however, the room had a... more

After a 2 week tour around the Pacific Northwest, Eureka was our last stop... the Carter House Inn far exceeded our expectations. Our suite was beautiful and spacious, the food at the restaurant is fantastic (try the tasting menu with wine pairings... great deal) and downtown is close by but not too close. We had the added surprise of seeing... more

My wife and I wish we could have spent more time there; however, the one night was enough to get a good feel for the excellent service provided by the staff at Carter House. The queen suite was just what we needed after a long day of driving and the food delivered to our room was a bonus, since we... more

A wonderful hotel in an excellent location in the historic part of Eureka. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The warm, spacious and comfortable lobbby is an excellent place to meet friends or business associates for a drink before dinner. more

John and I were extremly excited to stay at the Carter house after taking our marriage vows earlier that day. We got there and got setteled into our room which was a lovely room! We go to take a jacuzzi bath togther and the jets don't work. We call the front desk and they come up and determine they don't... more
