This roomy and unique B&B turned out to be even better than we had reason to expect. Sticklers for accuracy, and with a good sense of history, the innkeepers have filled it with priceless antiques, it seems. But that does not stop the beds frm being very comfortable. The one drawback is that they do not serve breakfast any more,... more

Stayting in this home was a wonderful experience as the attention to detail allowed us to drink in the Victorian era. We sat peacefully reading newspapers and journals from the early 1900's feeling as if it could have been today. We had never stayed in a B & B and would have prefered the room with a private bath, but... more

This was absolutely the BEST bed/breakfast experience we have had yet. Even though I had booked our stay much earlier, Lily remembered everything about her conversation with me about the purpose for our trip. The mansion has been decorated extensively in the victorian style with great care. The innkeepers set the stage every day. Doug loves to share his extensive... more

I selected this b&b as a treat for my wife and figured i could endure a night surrounded by victorian decor. we were both thrilled by the surroundings! prepare yourself for a great visual, educational, and totally comfortable stay. the property is lovely, the structure is stunning and the interior is filled with authentic and very interesting relics from the... more

My wife and I had looked foward to our stay. Unfortunately, my wife's father took ill and was rushed to the hospital (where he remains 2 weeks later). We phoned and asked if the reservation could be cancelled as we needed cut our trip short to rush back home. The innkeeper heartlessly refused and charged us full price for the... more

I understand that you had a disappointing experience in trying to get an exemption from our 7 Day Cancellation Policy. In reading your comments to TRIP ADVISOR I see that you found our policy to be "heartless" and "without compassion". Perhaps we did a poor job of explaining that we would be glad to issue you a refund, even though...

This place is a real gem and has to be visited. Prepare to be knocked out by the stunning beauty of the interior of this lovingly restored Victorian house and by the friendliness of the hosts. It's definately one of the 5-star places to stay when travelling in Northern California. (Also, ignore what some older guidebooks say about Eureka... it... more

I just returned from an overnight stay at Abigail's Elegant Victorian Mansion in Eureka, California. I wished it could have been much longer as the experience could not have been better. The inn itself is a work of art and a wonderful step back in time to explore. I wasn't able to take advantage of viewing the silent movies that... more

What a beautiful and welcoming abode. We arrived via motorcycle, cold and later than expected. We took the Lost Coast "Wildcat" route... what beautiful, wild ride. Lily and Doug were so gracious and even made reservations for us at The Sea Grille (highly recommended). The warmth of the fireplace, robes and shower(s) were just what we needed. Every room in... more

Not so good breakfast.( Yogurt & serial or cold Ham&Cheese style) No afternoon tea or soda as advertised Didn't turn on "sauna" as advertised Other than that, it is o.k. more

Management response from
Doug Vieyra, Managing InnKeeper

"Not so good breakfast" - "No afternoon tea or soda" - "Didn't turn on sauna as advertized" . . . . - Because our Victorian Mansion is so large and complex it does take awhile to show the arriving guest all the many options and opportunities that they have at their disposal. Sometimes the guest is over-whelmed with the details,...

We agree with the previous reviews about the Bed & Breakfast. However, in addition to a very clean and nicely furnished accommodation, what make this place very special are the owners of the Bed & Breakfast. This warm and welcoming couple makes you feel at home and is very accommodating. When I made the reservations on the phone with Lily,... more
