This is only a review of the Bristol Rose Cafe in the Eureka Inn. We had dinner and it was surprisingly good and at a reasonable price. Unique presentation of French Onion Soup with a whole onion fish and chips with home made potato chips .Beef stew was very tasty. Overall, service a 7, food a 8. Played Sinatra music,... More

What can I add to all the other reviews? I think you either love or hate the place. In the family some thought the place ok others didn't. It is a bit weird to be honest - the lobby is a bit like a film set (scary movie type) and the 1930s music a little odd. All the locked doors,... More

It's a Grand Old Hotel from another era. If you like that sort of thing, and I do, you'll probably be willing to forgive some of the rough spots. It's under renovation and our room was very nice. The room was large, clean, nicely decorated and the beds were new and comfortable. The hallways were a little musty and maybe... More

This hotel was very disappointing. The place felt haunted and the breakfast was less than adequate for a simple continental breakfast. The hallways were musty. The staff was friendly but disorganized. When we went to check out they never found our paperwork. They charged our charge $100 security and I felt that was a bit much. I traveled all over... More

This is the second time I've stayed here in as many years. It's old and is being nicely restored. They have a long way to go but it's still a fun place to stay. They include a nice breakfast. The person working at the desk was friendly, informative about where to have dinner, and helpful with our needs.

This place could definitely use a facelift, but it was not at all unclean or uncomfortable. New wallpaper and carpets would go a long way in restoring this property. Staff was great, housekeeping prompt & efficient. Just a little wear and tear showing.

In April of 2014 I arranged for a small block of rooms to be held for a group tour with our car club in August. Each couple was to make their own reservations for the stay. I gave the clerk I spoke to my credit card number to hold the rooms only until May 31. Three couples made reservations prior... More

Upon checking in, the Inn ran a $100.00 ("for amenities") charge on my credit card. We arrived upstairs to find we had a key to someone else's room, or a room that hadn't been made up. No real apology from the desk clerk; perhaps this is common? The hotel is shabby, run down, smells old and decrepit, is deserted and... More

The Eureka Inn is a nice hotel but you can kind of tell that they don't have the money for the upkeep. For example, the elevator was out of order the morning we checked out. Nothing is gross or dirty, just slightly rundown. But as others have mentioned, the lobby is nicely restored and maintains its original Tudor-style. Fortunately we... More

Stayed here last night on a road trip down the coast. The building itself is amazing, take time to look in all the display cabinets at the old pics and ads for the place, it really is lovely. It has the vibe of a late fifties/ early sixties upscale hotel, and you can tell how grand it was back in... More
