I arrived late on my arrival due to flight delays. I also had to get up early the first morning. The bed was comfortable and the furnishings nice. I was surprised to find little to no toiletries. This was my first B&B and maybe that is on par with others. No shampoo, one bar of soap, that was it. Luckily... More

I was looking for a simple, welcoming place and I came across the Inn at Moonlight Beach which further surpassed my expectations and then some. Let me start off with I was welcomed with a personalized note at the door, and could just walk into my room at the house with no worries. I didn't even have to check in.... More

Pros: close proximity to the train, beach, and shops. Helen the cook is lovely. Nima the host was friendly, although we only saw him upon arrival. Cons: The bed. It is insulting that this is what is provided for guests to sleep on. It was super old, super lumpy, and I had a spring sticking me in the side. I... More

We are very sorry you did not enjoy the bed. I took a look and the feathers in the mattress topper had a few lumps together. The topper has been replaced, which we could have done for you. We also keep several blankets and extra heaters for anyone who asks just for the few December nights that it gets chilly.... More

We had the chance to stay in two rooms, both of which felt special. Both were surprisingly quiet given proximity of I-5, even with the windows open. Beautiful sunset with view over the Pacific, fantastic breakfast. Delightful greeting and service. Reasonably priced, at least during the slowish season. Highly recommend.

Welcoming and every detail was perfect! Candles in the entryway, comfortable beds, lovely ambience, immaculately clean, and delicious homemade breakfast by Helen! Ham croissants with orange marmalade, savory tomato tart, hearty spinach quiche, apple turnovers and pumpkin bread for your sweet tooth, and a beautiful fresh fruit plate. My husband said it was the best breakfast he ever had at... More

Wonderful bed & breakfast close to the beach at Encinitas,California. My sister had given me a bed & breakfast gift certificate. I used the certificate at "The Inn at Moonlight Beach" for my mother & sister's birthday. The "Beach" room was very clean & decorated in a seashell/beach theme. The breakfast meal was excellent with lots of homemade baked goodies... More

I got hooked by reading the reviews and the website. I was expecting to see Ann the former owner. Nothing was mentioned about the Inn changing hands. It was sold about 6 months ago. This isn't that big of a deal. But a bit deceiving. They just recently updated the website. Everything is the same but the owners are different.... More

My wife and I spent 2 nights last week in the Penthouse Suite. Good location, a short walk to the beach, and a nice town. The train didn't bother us at all, as it has with some other reviewers. The place was very clean, and our room was great. We loved the hot tub on the balcony! My only gripe... More

The accommodations were cozy and kept VERY clean every day. Three of us stayed in the Sea Breeze room for a total of 4 nights. The train did pass close by during the day and night, but it was not disturbing. We actually thought we might miss it after we returned home. The breakfasts were very good and included an... More

Earlier this year, we traveled to Encinitas to visit with family. Prior to our trip, we researched bed and breakfasts in the area and decided to stay at the Inn at Moonlight Beach. After making our reservation, but before arriving, we received regular communication from the Inn, which was very helpful in our trip planning. Upon our arrival, we were... More
