My fiance and I planned on staying at the Quality Inn & Suites North Coast in early June after driving from Albuquerque, NM. Our room was horrible. There was a strong odor of cat urine, there were mosiquitos in the room, the carpet was damp, and there was an extremely loud rock concert at the adjacent bar/grill that played well... more

This hotel was unique compared to those motels that we have stayed at before. The building itself is unlike those highway exit hotels and suites the European influence of its town. They have a really nice Jacuzzi which our kids enjoyed everyday apart from the warm sunshine at the beach which is pretty close by. The staff was very friendly... more

(We stayed here when it was still Portofino Beach Inn) LIKED: Low-cost Queen bed room; short drive to I-5, Encinitas Village, & Rancho Santa Fe; very clean bathroom (with soaps, shampoos & lotion provided); breakfast included from 7-9 AM (juice; coffee; English muffins; toast; cold cereals; assorted fresh Danish pastries & muffins, plus apples ... all restocked as needed by... more

I picked this hotel for my recent "staycation" since it is right near downtown Encinitas with all its cute restaurants and shops as well as Moonlight beach, which is super kid-friendly (has a playground, fire pits at night, and areas for picnic-ing). The main appeal was the location and price, but when I got there, I was so impressed with... more

This place wasnt bad at all. The rooms were clean, the staff was really helpful and the continental breakfast was pretty good (sweet rolls, cereal, toast, english muffins, hard boiled eggs, fruit, juice and coffee). Its only 4 blocks from the beach and within walking distance to the main street in Encinitas. I was seriously worried about it after reading... more

The hotel seemed to be newly renovated, very cute, boutique style hotel. They have a beautiful interior oversized spa, we also had a spa room. We were very close to downtown Encinitas. Walking distance to everything Rooms were very clean, staff was very friendly and helpful. more

This hotel is billed as a boutique hotel near the beach with newly renovated rooms. It was, in fact,a dirty creepy place that I would not reccomend to anyone. The rooms are in bad shape and equiptment missing or broken. There were unsavory characters hanging around day and night. The breakfast was awful with dried out pastries and fake juice.... more

I stayed at the Portofino Beach Inn for one week in the middle of January, 2008. The room was very nice. It was well decorated, very clean, large, with a nice tub/shower combo and separate vanity with marble top sink and blow drier. There was a clean mini fridge and microwave which I utilized for quick meals and snacks. Good... more

Cockroaches ALL over our room and bathroom. We immediately reported it to management. As we left, management apologized and stated they would adjust our bill. They did not adjust our bill and we paid $$$$ to stay in a cock roach invested room! Not only is the hotel dirty, but the management dishonest. The hotel was disgusting and I think... more
