The hotel seemed to be newly renovated, very cute, boutique style hotel. They have a beautiful interior oversized spa, we also had a spa room. We were very close to downtown Encinitas. Walking distance to everything Rooms were very clean, staff was very friendly and helpful. more

This hotel is billed as a boutique hotel near the beach with newly renovated rooms. It was, in fact,a dirty creepy place that I would not reccomend to anyone. The rooms are in bad shape and equiptment missing or broken. There were unsavory characters hanging around day and night. The breakfast was awful with dried out pastries and fake juice.... more

I stayed at the Portofino Beach Inn for one week in the middle of January, 2008. The room was very nice. It was well decorated, very clean, large, with a nice tub/shower combo and separate vanity with marble top sink and blow drier.
