It was quite literally a dark and stormy night when we first fell upon Bridget Dolan’s Pub and the Griffin House Inn. Attracted by the only light on the road - a neon sign in the Pub - we stopped to get out of the rain, We had some great pub food and much-needed adult refreshments. Too weary (and refreshed)... More

If you blink, you might be through Elk, CA., and find yourself heading on up the coast toward Mendocino. If that happens, you will have missed the chance to have stayed at The Griffin House Inn, and that would be a shame. Try to plan your trip so that you get to stay a night or two. Get one of... More

We've stayed here several times, always before in ocean facing room. Views there are spectacular, and worth every penny of the price. This time was a last minute trip, and we had garden view room. Still a cute room, but we spent daylight hours at Greenwood State Park, .2 miles away, in order to have the same great view. Room... More

LOVED the wood stove! We are from Alaska and appreciate a REAL fire!! But the real draw here is the VIEW, because you are literally on the edge of the bluffs!! WOW!! We had so many plans, but instead decided to stay on our deck and enjoy the incredible view. Solitude and tranquility were what we needed and we got... More

Quaint little B&B on the north coast of California, about a 4-5 hour drive north of San Francisco. Probably longer if you're taking the scenic route up CA-1 and stopping a few times to take in the views. We stayed in the ocean view cottage, which was cozy and adequately furnished for a weekend getaway. The deck yields spectacular views... More

My wife and I stayed at this place for one night in October...and it was one night too many. Our first mistake....when we walked into the room, the entire room smelled like a wood stove. Obviously, the owner never airs the room out after use. We should have left then, but we were too tired from the long drive that... More

We stayed at the Griffin house ,on our way to Humbolt State Park. After a long day of traveling it was the perfect place to stop. We hiked down to the state park beach, which is wild and beautiful. We went back to our room had a glass of complimentary wine while changing for dinner. The pub had good food, beer and... More

My boyfriend and I have stayed here a few times and love it. We have stayed in a cottage without the ocean view and also one with the Ocean view (I don't remember the name of it, but it's the one on the far right hand side). We love it. The cottages and nice and maintained. The bedding is nice... More

We stayed at the Griffin House for 4 nights, Wed thru Sunday. The room we stayed in was called the Gunderson. It did not have a view of the ocean, or anything else for that matter. It was definitly rustic, which is fine. It had a wood burning stove for heat and they supplied us with plenty of fire wood.... More

Spent two nights again at the Griffin House Inn in Elk, CA nearing Valentine's Day. We stayed in one of the three cabins overlooking Elk Cove. No need to go anywhere! Robes are provided to lounge around either inside the cabin or out on your private deck. In both places the views of the ocean, cove and sea stacks are... More
