This is my first TripAdvisor review, and I didn't think I would ever write one. But I just HAD to review the Blue Butterfly (sorry it took me so long to get to it!). My husband and I stayed two nights in July, and wish it could have been many more. Liz and Ron were fabulous hosts, and we were... More

Our stay with Liz and Ron at the Blue Butterfly Inn was a highlight of our 40 days of traveling in the USA this fall. We loved Yosemite and after a long day of hiking, enjoyed the peaceful evenings at the B&B. We stayed on the top floor in the Sunflower room where we were surrounded by windows that let... More

We stayed for 3 nights here. Ron & Liz made us feel very welcome in their B&B. We had a lovely room on the ground floor. It was so quiet we could hear the river at night - soothed us to sleep. Breakfast each day set us up for a big day of touring through Yosemite - the B&B is... More

My parents and I started our California trip with four nights here and loved it. Its appearance, seen from the road amidst the large lodge-style hotel which surrounds the inn, might belie the charming atmosphere within. Once inside the inn, there's no sense of the hotel's presence and the views from the back decks of the mountains and river are... More

Based on all the other reviews, my girlfriend and I decided to try the Yosemite Blue Butterfly Inn. We found it okay, but not spectacular (compared to the B&B we lived at the day before in Pacific Grove). Getting to the Blue Butterfly Inn was easy, put in the big motel on your GPS and use the directions from the... More

I am truly sorry we didn't communicate better with the traveler from Oslo who wrote this report...apparently this person felt 'awkward' and I do wish I had perceived this. We do try to present a breakfast menu that is interesting, varied, and has plenty for everybody. It was my failure to notice (or remember) that on the registration form that... More

I recently stayed two nights at the Yosemite Blue Butterfly Inn (Oct, 2014) and it was awesome! I have been coming to Yosemite NP for a number of years and I have stayed at many different places, but the Blue Butterfly Inn takes the prize as the best! Here's why: my room was spacious with a very comfortable queen bed.... More

Liz and Ron are the best hosts in the world. They'll help you with whatever you need. The house is so cozy, a treasure in the Yosemite area. Having breakfast on the deck was the best experience in the whole trip.

Liz and Ron built this B&B on a parcel of riverfront property they own on the bank of the Merced River in spite of a developer's effort to buy all riverfront property in El Portal. They refused to sell. As a result, the B&B is surrounded by a 300+ room motor lodge, which the developer built around their property. Once... More

We stayed with Liz and Ron for three nights and they are the perfect couple to advise you on a day out and then make that all important cuppa at the end of the day. The location is perfect, the breakfasts to die for, and our room looked out onto the Merced River. We could have quite happily moved in... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in October 2014, staying in the Lotus room. There were no problems finding the Blue Butterfly, as we followed the instructions provided at time of booking - be aware that the tall edges of Yosemite can confuse sat navs! If you are looking for somewhere close to the Yosemite national Park, then this is... More
