We stayed at the Blue Butterfly for 6 nights and had a wonderful time. Liz and Ron who run the establishment are incredibly generous and thoughtful and made every effort to make our stay memorable. They helped us organise fishing trips and walks plus they even introduced us to some raccoons. Our bed was very comfortable and the shower had... more

Couldn't ask for a better bed, breakfast or hosts! A great location, wonderfully appointed rooms, next to an incredible park. Traveler's tip - Get Ron to show you pictures of him climbing El Capitan! more

This Bed and Breakfast was just simply wonderful. It is as close as it gets to the south entrance of Yosemite National Park, and about 10 minutes away from the valley floor, El Capitan and the magnificent sights located in the heart of the park. It is located right on the banks of the river, offering spectacular nature views as... more

We spent 4 nights at the Blue Butterfly and the accomodations far exceeded our expectations. Our room was large, uniquely furnished and the bed was very comfortable-especially after a long day hiking. It was very peaceful and quiet at night without any noise from either other guests or the institutional box hotel next door. Even thought the Blue Butterfly is... more

Everything about this B&B is outstanding: the location near the park entrance, the comfort and spaciousness of the rooms, the decor, the wonderful breakfasts, and most of all the warmth of the hosts/owners, Ron and Liz. They truly make their guests feel like family. I'm sure there are less expensive rooms at the rather ordinary hotel that literally surrounds Blue... more

You will have to look far and wide to find another B&B that measures up to the standards of the Blue Butterfly. My wife and I visited Yosemite a couple of weekends ago and stumbled upon this jewel in El Portal. It is flanked on both sides by the town’s behemoth Yosemite View Lodge – what a contrast. The atmosphere... more

We just loved the Inn! Liz and Ron couldn't have been more helpful with suggestions on areas not to be missed. Our room was on the second floor with our own balcony overlooking the Merced River, decorated beautifully and so clean, breakfast was outstanding!!!!!!!!!!! This is an ideal location for the Yosemite National Park, we were only about 5 minutes... more

What a true bed & breakfast experience did we get here! The B&B is located in a beautiful house located at the bank of the Merced river, just outside Yosemite park. The owners Liz and Ron are doing everything to make you feel comfortable, from a very enjoyable breakfast to a nice evening tea! On walking distance you can have... more
