This place is beautiful nestled against the Merced River and the interior is beautifully decorated. The hostess made us feel welcome and we enjoyed the back deck where humming birds feed. During the night my partner went to the bathroom only to find a bat flying in the room. We had the windows open, screens closed, so we figured it... More

We had a lovely stay at the Blue Butterfly Inn. Our room was huge and very comfortable. The art deco style of the room was wonderful and a lot of thought had gone into it making it the most unique place we stayed in. Liz and Ron (the owners) were very helpful and took the time to suggest walks and... More

My husband and I stayed here two nights before we stayed at the Ahwahnee in Yosemite National Park. Had we known how wonderful this B&B was we would have booked the Inn for a longer stay. We stayed in the top floor room, the "Sunflower Penthouse Suite." The large room has one wall of windows that face the mountains and... More

Usually preferring the anonymity afforded by larger hotels we found the personal experience offered by the Blue Butterfly to be a refreshing change. Liz and Ron are extremely personable and together they run a tight ship with him attending to logistics and maintenance and her at front of house attending to afternoon tea and breakfast. They have an impressive collection... More

On the first page of our web site, on the right hand side, is a section marked "Maps and Directions". 'Click on' this and it clearly shows our location in relation to adjacent lodging facilities, and shows an aerial map and detailed directions to our B&B within the commercial complex. Often the first question guests ask is, "How did you... More

As part of our CA road trip, my wife & I enjoyed a wonderful 3 night stay with Liz & Ron. A lovely change from the impersonality of the usual hotels. We received genuine personal hospitality, wonderful breakfasts and great local advice, whilst enjoying the delightful top floor Sunflower room. Thoroughly recommended.

We had the pleasure of spending two nights at the Blue Butterfly in April and it proved to be a highlight of our trip and the best B&B we stayed in . I'm an Art Deco fan and the Lotus suite was perfect, furnished with period pieces and great attention to detail, The room also had a lovely balcony overlooking... More

My husband and I stayed at the Blue Butterfly for six nights in July. We stayed in the gorgeous Sunflower Suite. This room was decorated with elegant touches--antique furniture, beautiful bedding, colorful artwork, and it also had a fabulous kitchen area/small fridge. The view from our private balcony was breathtaking. Liz and Ron were the perfect hosts for an inn--they... More

First off, I was amazed that we were able to book this spot only weeks before our visit mid July. This was our first experience at a Bed and Breakfast and we stayed in the Lotus room which truly exceeded my expectations. The room was HUGE! Larger than most hotel rooms I've ever stayed in and incredibly clean. Additionally, the... More

Liz and Ron were the perfect hosts, chatty, knowledgeable, welcoming and Liz's breakfasts were lovely (was also the only decent cup of tea we had in the States!). As the title says we came here on our honeymoon, travelling along the west coast and we would say that this was our favourite stop, not just because of the amazing scenery... More

Nice place right on Merced river. Ron and Liz are great people. Liz will talk both of your ears off. Good breakfast served every day on the deck. Not a lot to do in the area at night and restaurant selection is slim. Butterfly is a good value for the expensive Yosemite area. A positive experience. The only thing lacking... More
