Found a screaming deal for $69 last minute, which seemed too low considering how close to Yosemite it is. Granted, it's January, but everywhere else was at least $100+. Read a bunch of reviews and decided to take a gamble. Turned out to be decent, relatively quiet, and clean. Sure everything was dated and worn, but nothing that was remarkably... More

After a crazy day in Yosemite we just wanted a hot shower, we never received it. Pro's: 1. Location, 30min from Yosemite Vally 2. Friendly staff Con's: 1. No hot shower (it was a nightmare) 2. No cell connection so you can expect a free Wifi but no, they charge an additional 10$ for a limited time, simply a ripoff!... More

I have nothing in particular to say about Cedar Lodge. It was clean and basic. From my travel experience - it should be noticeably cheaper considering the amenities. The location is convenient if you are travelling to Yosemite and do not want to spend money on staying in Yosemite Valley. I did not use any of the amenities (pool, steam... More

We stayed at Cedar Lodge for 2 nights of our road trip in September 2014. There was a bit of a mix up at check-in when we found out our rooms which had been booked through a travel agent had not been reserved at the hotel. The hotel was fully booked so the only room available was the family suite... More

Stayed here whilst touring California last year. Firstly, it's a little way out of YNP so bare that in mind when booking. Also it's a motel, so manage your expectations. That said the rooms were clean, there are two swimming pools, and a games room. We did have the best night in the small pub there, some really nice characters,... More

During a Sierra road trip, we planned an over-nighter to Yosemite. As Yosemite was fairly booked and a bit pricey, we looked at lodging in El Portal, a 15 minute drive from the park entrance. We chose the Cedar Lodge, as the prices were less than half than the Yosemite View Lodge, and booked two rooms on-line. Upon our arrival,... More

This review is based in 4 years if coming here every 8-12 weeks year round. First and most important - There is no cell service. If you drive to El Portal you can get it, but if you are like us you come here to escape our everyday world! I like being cut off for a little while! Other than... More

Stayed mid September for 2 nights, so was quite a busy season. We read a lot of the reports on this place before travelling and booking, so were a little apprehensive - but it was the closest we could get at a good price that didn't involve a long drive to the Yosemite NP entrance (about 8 miles). Note, that... More

The room was clean and comfortable. We knew ahead of time that there would be a charge for Internet but to find out after arrival that we had no cell coverage was a shock. Actually, there was no cell coverage anywhere in the National Park. We walked through the grill about dinner hour and there was nothing there to entice... More

A no-frills, low-budget hotel. I think it is telling when the website states that the room features a refrigerator. The worst part is probably the $10 per device per night wifi, which was terribly slow. It would have been alright if we had service or data or wifi was free. We were so afraid we were not going the right... More
