This motel is located 2 miles further than the west entrance to the park, so is an ideal location (given that the east side of the park is flooded this year and is not expected to open for some time). We spent £150/night but had a 3rd floor room which had a hot tub, flat screen TV, great bed, kitchenette... More

A friend and I stayed in the Lodge one night after a full day in Yosemite National Park. El Portal is right outside the east gate of the park, which was fantastic for us after a long day of seeing the sights in Yosemite. However, there is nothing ELSE in El Portal, so be prepared to drive 30 miles to... More

We stayed at the Yosemite View Lodge for 3 nights (26th-28th May). The hotel is perfectly situated about a mile from the entrance to Yosemite and right by the river. We were able to check in early (2.30 pm) – reception staff were polite. We had upgraded to a river view room and we had a large room (2 queen... More

We had booked a suite for Sunday night during the Memorial Day Weekend and were pleasantly surprised to get the very private upstairs unit of the small wooden cabin tucked between one the larger buildings and the Lodge Lobby. Room #2342. This cabin has just two suites--one upstairs with its private staircase and the other downstairs (which was empty during... More

This turned out to be a great place to stay for us. At the time I was looking for a room to book near Yosemite, this was the only place that showed availability at the price of nearly $200.00 (yikes!) for the night. I was very pleasantly surprised with the room that we were given. It had a nicely equipped... More

Wonderful location right outside the park and much much better value for the $. All rooms look out over the Merced river which was full in May so that made for a great sleep. Fireplace, comfy beds and the biggest bathtub I've ever seen. Great place to walk right outside on the sidewalk next to the river. Easy check-in and... More

Location is all here. The rooms are very mediocre and in need of a significant overhaul. Other than a brand new flat screen TV everything in the room was worn out and jaded - bedding, carpets, wallpaper. The blanket on my bed was the sort of thing you'd put in the dog's bed! The lodge staff too could do with... More

My husband and I stayed two nights and cannot be more happy with our stay. Best features of the motel are (1) the gorgeous view of the Merced River right outside our 1st floor bedroom; and (2) proximity to Yosemite (2 min drive from park entrance). Room decor was a bit dated and room was a little dim; however room... More

As others have said, the best part of this place is it's location, right at the entrance to the Yosemite Valley. They have tried to make the room seem upscale with some of the finishes, but it's a motel type facility with an open walkway to your door. Rooms are large. There is a small cooktop, microwave and bar type... More

Hard to beat 5 minutes to Yosemite Park entrance. Kitchenettes come in handy for meals since the only options are the park, the hotel, and a drive into Mariposa (1 hour). Stock up at the local grocery store in Fresno/Merced/Sacramento. Staff very friendly and resolved any issues quickly. Nice outside pools and jacuzzi. Bus service from hotel to park if... More
