When we were unable to get lodging inside Yosemite Park, we booked the Yosemite View Lodge as the closest alternative, but did not expect anything more than basic accommodations. In fact, we were surprised by a wonderful room, complete with a jacuzzi and kitchenette, overlooking the Merced River. The room was modern and well appointed. The only downside is there... More

My husband and I were booked in for two nights at the hotel as part of our honeymoon touring the USA and were delighted when, on arrival, we were told that they had upgraded us to a river view room with a hot tub. Off we went to find the room, excited for what we were about to find. After... More

You need to book well in advance (by all accounts a whole year) if you wish to stay inside the actual park. We booked 4 months in advance and had to settle for this place just outside at El Portal. Even so it is a good 20 minute drive into Yosemite village itself. The View Lodge is a motel style... More

The location is great. It's about a half hour drive down to Yosemite. The hotel it's self needs updating. The room was clean and had a mini fridge to keep your own drinks/food in. The pools were not so clean and one of the hot tubs was broken, not a huge deal we didn't go there to go swimming. The... More

Stayed one night here and the Pizza Oven was broken. Management made no effort to accommodate our group when we arrived tired and hungry. It is remote with no options to choose from so we had to make due with salad and bread form the Restaurant. Very disappointed with our stay. Only high point was the Bear we saw in... More

The room at the lodge is functional and comfortable. The onsite shop had limited variety though reasonably priced, we enjoyed our meals at the restaurant and pizza parlour. The complex had a number of pools and jacuzzi's. The lodge is at a great location and we enjoyed the drive's into and out of Yosemite as we visited the Giant Redwoods,... More

A dreary, dark, old room! We were slightly disappointed but then we opened our back door and all ill thoughts vanished. The River Merced was wonderful. We had a large patio area with a shabby table and chairs and an extra bit of patio that went further down onto the river, only shared with another family. We spent an wonderful... More

As other reviewers have stated I was a little nervous of staying at this hotel due to some dodgy previous reviews, although there are some issues with this hotel overall we were very pleased and would gladly return. We arrived after an extremely long journey from Lake Tahoe there had been a forest fire near the hotel and we had... More

Just stayed at the Yosemite view lodge. Both rooms were adequate but dated. Both need new ac units . Very noisy. Staff all very friendly and helpful . Pizza restaurant good. The place needs redecorating.

Check in ok, but limited amount of keys if you would like more than one per room, you have to return late evening when everyone has checked in. Rooms and I complained and sampled a few are all tired, peeling paper, dirty carpets, cig burns and a musty smell. River views nice. Outside pool small, but ok. No pool bar... More
