On our trip to Yosemite as tourists, we arrived at the lodge at night and the weather was quite cool and the air crisp. My impression of the place was a bit better than ok from a general perspective. Upon checking in and entering my room (1 Kingsize bed), notably it was quite big and clean, not really as bad... more

My daughter and I took a 14-day road trip starting on the Pacific Coast Highway through California and mid-way through Oregon, then back through California to Lake Tahoe, Yosemite and Sequoia. We booked several motels on the internet, one of which was the Yosemite View Lodge. We were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived - the room had 2 queen... more

I don't understand the negative reviews for this hotel. This is very pleasant hotel to stay at when visiting Yosemite. The room was large, clean and comfortable with a nice kitchenette. The two restaurants on site are completely acceptable, even pretty good. The hot tubs by the river are outstanding after a long hike in Yosemite. Price was reasonable too, $174 per... more

My partner and I got to our hotel at 3am from Vegas and weren't due to check in until the following afternoon. The guy at reception kindly allowed us to check into a 2 queen bed room for the full standard price. We were grateful considering how late it was and we crawled straight into bed. However it wasn't long... more

Fourth time at this hotel, which is good value for the area. River rooms are best, having a patio or balcony directly overlooking the Merced river - wonderful! However, guest rooms are beginning to need refurb -- grubby paintwork, dirty carpet etc. Also a lack of attention to necessary housekeeping checks -- missing kitchen utensils, one lamp not working, jacuzzi... more

Lovely place to stay just outside of YNP. We stayed in room right on the Merced River, the room was huge with a double spa bath in the room. You can hear the river when you open the balcony door and see squirrels running around on the ground below. View is fantastic. Great hotel, clean and nice restaurant, I would... more

The person at the front desk would now let us check in early, so we had to drive into the part with the van loaded with our luggage , etc. When we returned after 8pm the person said we should have been allowed to do an early (2pm) registration. The room was clean and there was an awsome view of... more

What DO other people expect when they go on holiday? I expect a comfortable room, a reasonable restaurant, good facilities, quiet at night and a good view is a bonus. Got all of these at the YVL, and have to disagree strongly with the really bad previous review. Ok so it ain't the Ritz but it's out in the middle... more

We stayed at the Yosemite View Lodge for two nights on our way from Las Vegas to San Francisco. We had been somewhat spoilt with fantastic hotels on our holiday and unfortunately this one was the worst. It was like going back 30 years. The rooms were functional but that was about as good as it gets. The beds were... more
