We stayed 3 nights mid july at the Yosemite View Lodge in El Portal and it was above my expectations. I was slightly worried about the negative reviews this hotel received. For us the Positives were: large clean room with a kitchenette and big bathroom, we had also requested a room with "river" view (well worth it as a room... More

Location, Location, Location - the lodge is as close to the National Park as could be without actually being in it. Our hotel room balcony overlooked the river which was in full flow. All the amenities were available at the hotel including a few swimming pools and spas. Clean rooms, good value for money and excellent location provide for good... More

We stayed at this hotel on a Caravan tour, so I'm not sure of the price. The location near Yosemite was the main reason we stayed there, and the tour guide confessed that it was not up to the standards of the other hotels on the tour. That bit of knowledge was an understatement. The rooms were large and adequate... More

Just stayed for 2 nights( would have been 3 but we checked out early). The rooms are very shabby- peeling wallpaper and a hole in the bath. Dirty crockery in the kitchenette and lighting so poor that it was impossible to read even in daylight. Shockingly badly managed. Get the impression the owners are draining every penny out of it... First of all it is only 2 miles outside the park. Rooms were very hot when we walked in, AC was old units that worked poorly. It was 102+ outside and those cheap old AC units didn't cool for beans. Couch was filthy with stains all over it. Everything was old and dingy. When they clean the room they just... More

We just spent four nights here and loved it. We had a fantastic room at a fantastic price in the Redwood building. Having come from San Francisco and Monterey we were expecting another cramped room with two double beds and not much else for space for ourselves and our two daughters and we were so impressed with the roomy two... Spent 2 nights at this hotel in July. It's in a great location, but is run down and in need of better maintenance. Upon arrival we were greeted by unfriendly staff at the front desk. Poker faced and less than welcoming. We woke up both mornings to ants all over the kitchenette counter and noticed a note taped to the... More

I wish I wasn’t writing this . . . but I am. We stayed at the Yosemite View Lodge for two nights in July. Plus point: the closest hotel to the West Entrance of the National Park Negative point: boy, do they milk it . . . . ! It’s just so disappointing to turn up at a hotel fearing... More

We got sucked into staying at Yosemite View Lodge during our trip to Yosemite. We were hiking half dome and wanted to be closest to the park. Having no luck getting into the Ahwahnee, we were led to believe this was an acceptable alternative. Don't fall for this. My som's room had dead bugs in the bathroom, bedroom, and one... More

It's got a tired feel to it so do not expect luxury. But, the location is fantastic, the setting next to the river is beautiful, the rooms are big and clean - so take it as it comes and enjoy. Two on site restaurants - the pizzas were awful, literally the worst I have ever had. The main restaurant was... More
