i agree with the other reviewers- the rates at this motel are much lower than similar chain motels located more centrally in san diego. it's worth the low rate to drive a little farther to access san diego sites. it's also well located for outdoor pursuits/hiking at mission trails park, laguna mountains, etc. their rates on weekends are especially low... This was great news for me....lower prices and still close enough to all the sights and attractions. Yes, its a six - ten min. dive further that staying at the Hotel Circle hotels but the savings gave us more $ to spend on the trips activities. This hotel, like all Motel 6 and other budget hotels, was not fancy (and... More

I was staying in room 172 when I awoke to a few big welts on my left hand and one welt on my collar bone. My hand was bright red and I went to the bathroom thinking about how years ago we had a sofa given and endured a huge bed bug infestation. Which in the end cost a small... More

We drove in from Phoenix and wanted to stop just short of San Diego. It was just a place to stay for one night, and it worked for us. Beware of rooms facing the interstate - they can be noisy. ~~~ I don't understand previous reviewers who say that this motel was "not bad" and "good" for the price, tell... More

Great solution to pricey, unavailable San Diego hotels. This hotel is surprisingly close to San Diego attractions, Target, Costco and other shopping malls. I rented two rooms for three nights. Rooms were well maintained, bathrooms with tubs in fine working condition!, AC worked fine, swimming pool water was clean and clear. Attendtion is paid to landscaping, good morning coffee, and... Fairly decent hotel. I booked online and check-in went very smooth. Bed was comfortable, room was clean, and bathroom was good. Air conditioner/heating unit appeared new and worked well. Motel 6s lack shampoo and internet, so take that into consideration. I was able to use my DSLs dial up provider with a local number with no problem. A previous review... More

After 100 rejected bids on Priceline for a 5 night stay in San Diego (August 6 thru the 11th), I gave up and booked at the Motel 6 in El Cajon for $50 per night, their internet special. The room was absolutely clean, two comfortable beds, immaculate bathroom with bathtub, air conditionaing that worked. TV includes cable and HBO. It... More
