Did not stay in the hotel portion, but took advantage of their improved campground area with my Girl Scout troop. We nearly had the grounds to ourselves during the week. The large site we chose was next to the creek, so we got to listen to the rushing water all night -- very relaxing. We also had a close-up view... More

Originally found this spot while sightseeing, decided to return for a night's stay. The motel is actually a number of railroad cabooses and cars converted into guest rooms. They are surprisingly comfortable, with King beds and a full bath. The interiors are very rustic. The manager was very pleasant and offered several tips for local area sightseeing. They also offer... My teenage kids and I loved this place! The caboose we stayed in was super clean and absolutely darling. You definitely don't have to be a little kid to enjoy it. I loved how clean the pool area was. Very beautiful location with a view of Castle Crags. There is a little creek running through the park, which our visiting... More

My wife and I stayed here over Memorial weekend while in town for a wedding. We stayed in train car #9 and it was comfortable and clean, with all the basic amenities. We went into the "dining car" restaurant for a cocktail and ended up staying for dinner. The bartender was friendly, and we shared some plates and had a... More

I place is awesome. We have now stayed twice at this unique hotel park. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Our drive was taking longer than it should, I received a call from the front desk inquiring about our check in time. We were going to be late checking in so they opened our room, turned on the porch... More

This motel has most of its rooms in cabooses. These are cars that used to go on the rear of every freight train in this country and they were occupied by a couple of railroad employees who monitored the rear of the train. In the 1980's they were replaced by a small electronic device and the railroads sold the cabooses... More

Excellent place to stop if you're traveling down I-5 to San Francisco. Very clean cabooses, friendly staff, and quiet. There is a dinner car on the property for dinner and the small town of Dunsmuir has several nice restaurants and coffee shops. There is also great trout fishing in he Sacramento River that runs through the town. The resort also... More

We stayed here as a stop over on a round trip from San Francisco to Seattle. My husband found this resort from Trip Advisor. What an amazing place - we arrived just off I-5 below Redding and found a collection of railway cabooses, a train and a restaurant car. We had booked the Box Car. If one bears in mind... More

My wife and I stayed over at the Railroad Park Resort on our way down to the Bay Area. You do not have to be a "railroad buff" to appreciate staying in one of their railroad cars. They did a fine job in converting the cabooses into cabins. The resort grounds is very picturesque and their dinner car offers very... More

Absolutely awesome place. All rooms are in a caboose. So cute! Our caboose was very clean and well taken care of. Very comfortable. Beautiful grounds and all at a great price. The staff are very courteous and friendly. They are also pet friendly! We brought our dog and we are all having a great time! We will definitely be back.... More
