I would STRONGLY advise people to stay away from this "resort". My family all thought this place was repulsive and disgusting. In fact, one of my family members, the only one desperate enough to shower there, actually put plastic bags on her feet to prevent contacting a disease. The shower had not been cleaned after the previous tenant. I"m not... More

My husband and I had to make a quick and as inexpensive trip to Desert Hot Springs as possible and were so thankful for the Sanctuary. The Staff from front desk, cleaning staff, to maintenance (which we did not need) but met upon arriving, bent over backwards for us. We got to look at several rooms, and they were more... More

What a nightmare! We stayed there a year ago, then out of the blue get a charge on our bank card for someone else's stay because their credit card machine is "scrambling" people's bills with all the credit cards in their record. They keep putting the money back then taking it back out again like 4 or 5 times! Meanwhile... More

We stayed for 3 nights without ever getting room cleaning service. I kind of suspected it and deliberately told the receptionist after our 2nd night to please have our room cleaned. Sure enough, we got home in the evening and found the room exactly how we left it in the morning. We stayed during a busy weekend - Presidents Day... More

Avoid this dive if at all possible. We had no: maid service, drinking water glasses, amenities of any kind (shampoo, conditioner, etc), extra pillows or blankets, water pressue in the shower, or coffee maker. The slider to the balcony wouldn't latch. We dared not go out there anyway because the railing was so loose we risked a plunge to the... More

We were surprised on how dumpy this place really is! We feel bad for whoever works here! I waited in the car while my friend checked in & there was this old lady lurking Around the parking lot. Her boobs were at her knees. We get to our room and find a dead lizard that must have been there a... More

This place rocked.. We stayed there during our trip to stagecoach,, and plan on staying again next year... Best weekend ever.... Imagine the Matterhorn in the desert..... Ice sculptures and caverns to explore.... Nesting pigeons up on the penthouse floor... Pink paint rocked my world....Although it wasnt open the Tavern would have made our stay even better.... With its bedrock... More

My friend and I decided to use the one night package she bought at a travel show last year. The package included a one night stay at the 'resort', a hydrotherapy bath and a 30 minute swedish massage. Although the staff were very friendly, the property is a run down tiki themed motel. The outdoor halls had random couches outside... More

The pictures on the hotel's website and on hotels.com are very misleading. Don't be fooled. We were't expecting 5 star, but it was awful. When we arrived the front desk gave us access cards to someone else's room and we walked in on a family. Some security huh? When we finally got out room, the access card would only work... More

Total misrepresentation! From their website you would think this is a newly remodeled resort and spa where one could relax. What is offered is a rundown, low budget motel with lots of problems. I found no relaxation here. This place needs a major remodel. It's a dump. Check in was inefficient. I could tell right from the start the customer... More

The La Toscana has been purchased by new owners and is now called the Hotel Shilla - the new owners have spent considerable funds on the property including fixing the walkways, new air conditioners, painting the rooms and removing the old balcony carpets and replacing them... - our bar is now open as well and the Spa has been redone...
