This is a must for fans of mid-century modern and Lautner. The property is fantastic and the experience mind blowing. Just don't expect all the services than a traditional hotel has to offer. Breakfast is pathetic so organise your meals ahead of time, go to Palm Springs or do groceries shopping. I would return without a doubt.

First of all, this is a beautiful mid century venue. I don`t think anyone would argue with that. But it is more like staying in a extra room your aunt has when she is out of town. Nice room with no, or limited extras. No wifi. Questionable neighborhood (bars on windows, warning signs etc) . Laughable continental breakfast. Outrageous price... More

Hotel Lautner was a real treat for this lover of desert modernism. Tucked away in an unpromising suburban-style neighborhood, it offers privacy and quiet in a beautifully designed structure that's been thoughtfully updated. The furnishings are cool, the bed is comfortable, the kitchen is well-stocked and will be handy once you realize that you don't want to leave but would... More

Let's get the basics out of the way Amazing mid-century vibe Quiet, clean, out of the way Beautiful furnishings and great little sundeck area. Well landscaped fun retreat Cute and VERY functional kitchen We never knew there were other guests except their cars were out front. The negatives: If you are there for just two nights (the minimum) do not... More

We spent my birthday weekend in the lovely Hotel Lautner in the Redwood Room. As my husband commented, it was like a dream The mid-century modern ambience from the beautiful architecture of this little 4 room jewel of a hotel, to the authentic period furnishings transported us back in time. But the bath and kitchenette have been updated to 21st... More

An amazing and rare opportunity to experience one of the Masters of Mid Century Architecture up close. Rooms were expertly appointed with incredible vintage designer furnishings and decor! I created a Yelp account just to give this rave review on this great place (although if I'm truly honest, I'd much rather selfishly keep this Getaway Gem off the radar so... More

There are not words that can adequately describe this amazing hotel. My Fiancé and i just got back from a 2 night stay in suite 3. I think the pictures and previous reviews really cover the incredible architectural and design aspects of this property, so no need for me to repeat. It's AMAZING. But, what really made my stay special... More

I wonder what John Lautner would say these days, if he could see the neighbourhood around his amazing building. Hotel Lautner is a unique oasis in the desert. Forget about the rest of Desert Hot Springs and if you ever come here, just do as Tracy Beckmann and Ryan Trowbridge, the two designers who run the hotel, suggest: Buy your... More

We chose Hotel Lautner to have our Wedding Feb. 15th 2014 and it was an AmAzing experience from start to finish. It was the perfect location and the people who run the Lautner bent over backwards to make sure that our special day was perfect....Although they do have very strict rules at the Lautner given the History of the Property...as... What a treat to be able to stay in a John Lautner designed project! If you are a fan of Lautner or mid-century modern design, then this place should not be missed! The restoration is more that can be asked for as the owners took loving care to bring this place back up to the highest standard. It feels like... More
