We attended our sons wedding at the L'Auberge and it was spectacular. The ceremony and cocktail hour were at the seaside park that overlooks the ocean. Very beautiful! I stayed here recently for a business trip in the area; reservation made by my hosts. The hotel/resort is very attractive, and right on the beach. So I think it could be a nice place to stay for a vacation. But the details weren't all there to make it ideal for someone who wouldn't be able to appreciate the beach.... more

Can't recommend. Bid on a pkg and they double talked and charged more money. Never rec'd a response to my inquiry as to why. Dinner was good, but overpriced. Dining room was noisy. Train running nearby was noisy. Expensive for what you receive. more

This place thinks of itself as a five star international resort, hence the 7 day cancellation policy and the aggressive application of an "early check-out" policy. The front desk people were rude with 'tude. Rooms were nice, but not that clean. The worst was sitting at the bar in the lobby and being bitten by bugs, causing big welts. Response from the hotel was they would tell the manager. With that kind of attitude it is amazing they are still in business in this economy. more

If this hotel is going to compete with the resorts just north of here in South Orange County at the same price point, they're going to need to decide if they're a hotel or a night club.
