I wanted a romantic and unique hotel to stay in. I booked a room for 2 nights without seeing the hotel first. My mistake and lesson learned. I visited the website which portrayed the hotel much differently then it actually is. The upside is the friendly man who worked at the "front desk", which is just a window that you... more

We had a marvelous night at the Les Artistes Inn. The room was charming and the service was excellent. We were happily given a vase for flowers, glasses for champagne and had a fire in the fireplace when we came back from dinner. I love this place and plan to visit again. What a value for a beautiful resting spot:... more

My husband and I were in Del Mar for a wedding recently and had agreed to splurge on L'Auberge for the actual wedding night, but decided to go the budget-friendly route for the 2 nights prior. While there was sweet service at the Stratford Inn (which we checked into on arrival), it was pretty depressing for the most part. Starving,... more

READ THIS REVIEW OR YOU WILL BE SORRY!!!! We rented the "Furo" room. When I pulled the sheets back to see why the bed was so soft I almost retched at the smell of the mattress. It smelled like a thrift store on a hot day! When I pulled the sheets back further the mattress was stained and worn, like... more

Great location in Del Mar; loved the Farmer's Market in the parking lot next door. We stayed in the Van Gogh room and loved the inlaid mosaic tile around the claw-foot tub. I did not pack a blow-dryer and upon asking to borrow one from the office was immediately loaned a nice one. (note--this is not a typical kennel-type hotel... more

his is a charming, small hotel where your pets are royally welcomed. It is very informal, and each room has a distinctive feature..a special patio in front or a nice little deck in the rear..with bubbling fountains and lush landscaping. Each room is designed in the style of the artist for whom the room is named, so each room has... more

Venturing to check out this motel, I encountered The Receptionist! (eventually, after much searching, I FOUND the reception). This unpleasant woman apparently objected to my 'body language' as I was somewhat surprised at the run down condition of the hotel in upscale Del Mar. She demanded that I leave expressing that she would not rent to me and to leave... more

My husband and I stayed in the De Lempicka room several years ago for our anniversary and had a great time. We like the quaint appeal of the Inn, and thought the room was perfect for our needs. I called this morning to book a room for our anniversary in August, and after seven or eight rings, someone picked up.... more

I stayed in the Zen room and loved the peaceful Asian decor. The room was clean, had plenty of towels and a comfy bed. The small refrigerator came in handy for my water, fruit and snacks. Off my room was a lovely little patio with table and chairs. The flowers were blooming and birds were chirping. The staff and owner... more

I found Les Artistes Inn on the internet as I was planning a west coast birthday weekend for my 70 year old mother. I contacted the proprietor by phone, and she could not have been nicer or more excited to share in my mother's upcoming birthday celebration. After viewing each of the rooms via panoramic videos on their website, we... more
