What a unique place!! Stayed here last weekend in the Van Gogh room. Very clean and quiet. My son loved it and is still talking about this hotel and he's 3!! In the morning they had coffee and cookies with a warm fire to enjoy in the lobby. Walking distance to all restaurants. Will be back!!!

Stayed in the penthouse adjacent to the inn. A bit like having your own apt at the beach in Del Mar. While not for everyone, particularly those who want a large standard hotel or 4 star service, this is a nice alternative near the heart of San Diego. Just adjacent to a cafe on the main drag in Del Mar,... More

It's not easy to sum up a place that's hand-designed to the tiniest tile detail. But the soothing trickles of water from various fountains and the smells of woodsmoke and ocean breeze make it all lovely. The proprietess - a former architect - has plenty of memorable stories to go along with every item found at the inn.

This one of a kind hotel is not your ordinary hotel chain. We were looking for a romantic getaway and we couldn't have found a better place. Each room has its own character and charm. We arrived late at night and someone promptly answered the bell and got us completely situated. Once in our room it felt like we were... More

What a sweet little inn. A blend of artsy, southwest, zen, beachy without being kitchy. It's thoughtful and comfortable. I'm not big on gloss and slick, or boring big box hotels. So Les Artistes was a perfect choice for a quiet, romantic escape. Great location, truly in the Del Mar village. Two blocks from the beach where we enjoyed watching... More

This is the hotel my hub and I stayed in on our wedding night in 1994. He was out to sea for our 20th (last year) so we didn't have an opportunity to celebrate, but I wanted to re-create the wonderful time we had for our 21st anniversary which is Feb.20. (I think the Inn had just opened back then... More

Perspective...I stay in hotels over 50% of the year for work & this does not feel like a hotel. It feels like our own funky place on the beach. Plus...Romantic, unique, intimate, and comfortable. Located on the beach & adjacent to restaurants, bars, shops, & nightlife. Each room is styled & customized according to & named after an artist. The... More

We stayed at Les Artiste New Years weekend 2015. The grounds were really relaxing with all the little public seating areas. The main entrance has a huge fireplace that was really nice. We stayed in the Zen room and it had it's own little patio with a relaxing waterfall. The only negative comment I have is that the Zen room... More

I give very good to this Inn because for the price you can not find an equivalent in the area. Forget the view if you don't want to pay the high price (the upper rooms may have a peak view of the sea). "Les artistes" is the typical bed and breakfast you find in Europe without the breakfast but with... More

We read the reviews on Trip Advisor for this hotel, and although some had issues noted, we found that uniqueness surfaced throughout most of what was reported. For travelers that like chain hotels with standardized rooms and procedures, this might not work. I would classify this hotel as an artsy boutique hotel with few frills. We called early to reserve...
