Had 2 dogs, no problem for the hotel. Made all the difference in our frame of mind knowing that we had both dogs with us. The employees were interested in the animals and saved my dogs toy when she forgot it. The balcony came in handy and we could see the ocean. The property is right across the street

I always enjoy staying at the Best Western Plus Marina Shores Hotel – Dana Point, CA. It is my hotel of choice because it is a home away from home. I have been staying their for more than 6 months. Because of their excellent customer service and service, I continue to come back. The hotel really takes the time to... More

The front desk staff both day and night could not have been more helpful and nice. Great free breakfast . could see the Pacific from our room. Close walk to great beach/state park. It was nice to be pleasantly surprised for a change!!!

Isn't it sad that, in a service industry, being pleasantly surprised is the exception instead of the rule? We are thrilled that you enjoyed your time at the Marina Shores and that you had a chance to explore the beach and the harbor while you were here. Of course, when you say, "great first time stay" you're implying that we'll... More

This was our second stay and it was even better than the first. We had a suite with a king bed and a studio couch in the living area for our son. The suite was well maintained and exceptionally clean. The view of the ocean from the third floor balcony was a plus. The staff at the reception desk were... More

So glad you enjoyed your time with us and of course we're ALWAYS happy to hear of plans for a return trip! As the manager, I was especially pleased with how you remembered our staff "personable but professional" ... that is exactly the image we want to leave people with. No impersonal stuffiness, just an enthusiastic "WELCOME! How can we... More

We stayed here the night before our daughter's wedding for convenience. As such it was perfect. But let's be candid. Unless you are a starving college student, this is certainly not a destination hotel. The rooms are clean and large. We had a "suite" that had a separate room with a fold out sofa bed as well as our main... More

We thank you for the candid review and I think you shared some really great observations with the readers. Yes, the lights on our balcony suites are controlled automatically for security reasons, but the heavy blackout curtain over the sliding glass door takes care of almost all the light that would pass through. I'm not sure what you meant by... More

Great location for attending the Laguna Pageant of the Masters. Very clean, some road noise. Will certainly try to stay here again. Very reasonable rates. Parking charge is the usual gouge for guests but we booked thru Costco and so the charge was removed since it was not previously disclosed.

So glad you enjoyed your time with us and hope you found the Pageant of the Masters as incredible as we did! You are one of those smart shoppers - stay a few minutes outside of Laguna Beach and save yourself a pretty penny on the hotel rates. Definitely worth the 10 minute drive. More

Our experience was fine. There was nothing exceptional or outstanding about the experience. The crib I asked for when making reservations was not in my room, but when I called the front desk they were quick to have one delivered. I understand prices are based on the market, but the price seemed high for rather average accommodations. The room was... More

Thank you for the review Aubree. As I said in our other correspondence, we were sorry that the crib was not in the room waiting for you when you checked in. Your family arrived about an hour before our check-in time of 3:00pm so we gave you the first suite that was ready and got the crib to you within... More

This hotel and staff, particularly Diane, made for a great experience. It was in a convenient location. We are a very picky family, the hotel was clean from the lobby, the rooms and the common areas. It was a great value as well. The parking fee was waived in exchange for sharing our email address. The breakfast is included in... More

Hey John! Thank you for the great review and I have already passed on your praises to Diane. We LOOOVE "picky families," especially when they come away with a fantastic impression of the Marina Shores. Glad you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to seeing you again. More

We spent 7 nights in Dana Point in July at Best Western Marina Shores. From the moment we booked directly with the property, the staff was as pleasant and accommodating as possible. It is obvious each takes great pride in their work. Rooms were clean, continental breakfast was good, location was a 10-minute walk from the beach - we would... More

When a guest stays for an entire week, they can't help but get an inside look at how good (or bad) a hotel really is. We are honored by your praises and I will make sure to pass them on to Thom, Diane and Leslie .. and of course our housekeeping staff. So glad you enjoyed your time with us. More

We only made reservations one night at this property in order to get a little closer to LAX. Nice location right across the street from a clean beach, marina, and shopping. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. It was the best continental breakfast we'd had in ten days and four hotels. Clean property that was overall, obliviously well managed.

Hey we ALWAYS take care of our Minnechaug allumni! (For any readers thinking "what??" this guest and I graduated from the same small town high school on the east coast, although years apart.) Sorry I missed meeting you, but certainly glad you enjoyed your stay and the front desk staff even told me how nice you were. More
