I needed a place for the night. This more than met my expectations. Close to san francisco. Nice big restroom. The check in associate was very helpful and showed me on a map some of the sites to check out in san francisco.

I had a bad feeling the minute we drove up to this place. I wanted to leave but we only needed to sleep for a few hours before our plane took off. The surrounding neighborhood is dirty and feels unsafe. The room smelled musty and moldy. In fact there was mold in the shower. There is mismatched furniture, and not in... More

Hi Amber, Our hotel is tucked away in a residential neighborhood that doesn't have the boutiques or restaurants which people usually associate with their mental picture of San Francisco. Maybe it's a little hyperbolic to call it dirty? Anyway, I wish you'd reached out to me or any member of our team to try to make you more comfortable during... More

Alpine Inn was clean, quiet, welcoming, and a good value. It would be a good base for exploring the San Francisco area outside of commute hours. Good simple, satisfying breakfast. Convenient freeway and airport access.

We stayed here on our 2nd night in San Francisco, and it was an excellent experience. It was cheaper than the run down place we stayed at the night before. As soon as we were greated by their employee we knew it was better than expected, she was very friendly and informative. The rooms look like little cottages. You can... More

Excellent customer service, delicious coffee compared to other hotels (Starbucks in the lobby and Wolfgang Puck for the room percolator), very beautiful little bungalows that were SO QUIET - great night of sleep, even for someone who sleeps late like me (usually I always get woken up by the cleaners, or the people in the room next door, but that... Hi L F, I spent a big part of my childhood living up in Redwood country and I know that anyone from there holds pretty high standards when it comes to peace and quiet. I couldn't be more flattered that we hit the mark for you and positive feedback like this is what keeps our team driven to keep delivering... More

First of all, it's not that easy to find. The sign is not very visible if you're driving down Carter eastbound towards Geneva. The motel is tucked away and built into a hill so parking is a bit scary. The young woman at the desk, Jennifer, was very helpful. We had a very hard time making the card key work... More

If you're looking for a five star, keep looking. But if you want a quiet, trendy and decent little place that reflects the old motor courts of the 30's and 40's? I dare you to find a place to stay in San Francisco that's as relaxing, neat, clean like this place and that doesn't cost a lot of money. The... More

Hi Harry, Thank ypu for your review. Trying to catch that sunrise over the SF bay is what gets me to work early every morning, and it's something I never experienced until I broke away from working in that glut of downtown hotels. Now I wonder if anything could ever drag me back, because I can tell from the look... More

Cute 1960's like motor court. Basic accommodations with minimal breakfast buffet and no near full breakfast places. Close to the cow palace so very convenient to attend events there. Price has gone up quite a bit in a year's time since we were last there. Parking off street and convenient to rooms, if someone else doesn't park in front of... More

Dear Damselfly63, Alas, our prices have slowly ticked up with the times, but we've still got the best deal this side of the Golden Gate! We're honored to have had you back with us, and I do hope that next time you bend my ear at breakfast time because we have some delicious new spots just a stone's throw from... More

Had a great night's sleep here! We have been on a college tour trip and have been searching for well reviewed, cost efficient places to stay along the way and this was the best choice yet! We were able to do laundry and order some tasty pizza as well as sleep in a comfortable, very safe and quiet room. Front... More

Dear Ghirhihim, Thank you for your review. The shampoo and bodywash dispensers are one of the many green initiatives that our company has undertaken to distinguish ourselves in an industry notorious for unnecessary wastefulness. As for the water, our pipes are filled from the fresh mountain springs of Yosemite -- some of the best in the country! We aim to... More

It was a great stay because the room was clean and comfortable. The location made this place a hidden gem but very safe and quiet. I also liked the staff they were very friendly. I would recommend to a friend and would definitely stay there again!
