We stayed in one of the cottages in December, 2013. We found the room to be misrepresented from what was described online-- the unit was listed as "1 bedroom," but indeed had no door between the living area and the "bedroom." This was difficult with small children to put to bed. Also, the loft area featured only a mattress on... More

My boyfriend and I went up to the area to hike and see the fall color. Loved it! the lodge is nothing fancy but you can't beat the price. we had a cute, little room upstairs w/ a t.v. and bathroom and view of the mountain. for the price it was perfect!! the mattress was soft so we ended up... More

Mc Gee Creek Lodge is a classic mountain lodge located on Hwy 395 east of Mammoth Mountain Airport and on the southwest corner of Crowley Lake. Each room has been recently remodeled and nicely decorated in a mountain motif. There are a number of rooms on the second floor with a variety of one and two bed configurations. Main floor... More

We love the McGeek. I almost don't want other folks to know about it. Crowley/McGee Creek is beautiful and only 15 minutes from the slopes and 10-15 from the main town of Mammoth. And for the price (under $100 for a king size bed and big shower/tub and $79 for a queen size!!), we feel like you can't beat it.... More

We found this to be an ideal location for exploring the area, as it’s close enough to everything but is away from the hubbub of town. We like staying in the Caretaker’s cabin. It’s private, has a full kitchen with big windows in the breakfast nook, a big deck overlooking Crowley Lake, and the most comfortable Tempur-Pedic mattress in the... More

Just got back from the Eastern Sierras near Mammoth. We try to get up there every year around the summer-time. Last year we went all the way to Lake Tahoe, staying at McGee Creek Lodge one night on the way up, three nights in Tahoe and again McGee Creek Lodge on the way back. After all the extra driving and... More

We arrived in the late afternoon in the early summer and the place seemed mostly vacant. The front desk had an envelope with our name on it and a key to the room, but nothing else. The room we stayed in was on the 2nd floor, it was nice and had an OK view, decor is country charming. The room... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The historic McGee Creek Lodge was originally built in 1929. Early on it served the winter skiing community and enthusiasts for the first commercial lift setup on the mountain outside the front door until that operation moved to Mammoth Mountain. Today you'll find cozy rooms for travelers, fishermen, hikers and skiers. McGee Creek runs through the property with fishing year round. Each room is unique with its own warm personality. Our dining room serves the lodge Friday through Sunday evenings. ... more   less
