A great place to stay after being on the road all day. Rooms were clean and breakfast next morning was delicious. Grounds and garden were beautiful. We enjoyed sitting on the verandah drinking our morning coffee.

Rainbow Tarns is nestled a few miles south of Crowley Lake. The B&B has three rooms for guests, and provides an amazing breakfast each morning as well as wine and cheese in the afternoon. Waiting to say hello when you arrive will be Brock and Diane and of course their dog Gibbs. Rainbow Tarns is a perfect romantic getaway for... More

After driving many miles through the desert, this was a wonderful place to cool off and relax. Our hosts were welcoming and the lodging, perfect. Breakfast was ourstanding. The B&B has an interesting history that was shared upon our arrival. Also nice was the treat that awaited after we got settled.

What wonderful hosts Brock and Diana (and Gibbs the dog) are. A warm champagne welcome, comfortable rooms, amazing home prepared breakfasts, but most of all lovely afternoon company as snacks and a bottle of wine are enjoyed. Thank You.

What can I say? From the moment we arrived until we left we were made to feel like part of Brock and Diane's family. We stayed in the Rainbow Room which is beautiful and had welcome drinks and snacks on the private porch outside. Gibbs, the family dog, was a great friend during our stay and loved herding the ducks!... More

We are friends with the owners here from before they purchased the B&B. Our first visit was for our 40th anniversary, and we waited too long to go back. We spent 3 nights in early October for the fall colors. There are 3 rooms and we stayed in the Rainbow room, which is the largest and has lots of views... More

Now, how do we start. It is hard to put into words how wonderful our stay with Rainbow Tarns was. It truly was an unexpected magical stay that we will remember forever. All I can say is, we now know the true meaning of the American Dream - it is right there in Crowley Lake - from the wonderful warm... More

I stayed at Rainbow Tarns by myself last November, just as the Sierra winter was beginning to make itself felt on the high peaks. After having normally crowded places like Rock Creek Canyon and Rainbow Falls all to myself, I returned each evening to this special hidden jewel just outside Crowley Lake. Rarely have I felt as comfortable, relaxed and... More

My husband and I stopped here and stayed 2 nights as part of our anniversary trip along the 395 corridor. We had been able to book the Rainbow room for a 20% discount because it was mid-week and the room had a jacuzzi so we were already happy! Room was comfortable and spacious and has a little patio with table... More

The Rainbow Tarns B&B is a delightful oasis at the base of Red Mountain near Mammoth Lakes, CA. "Oasis" is an apt description, as you would not know that this B&B is here until you literally drive onto the property. But as soon as you do, you encounter a wonderful expanded cabin on a plot with three private ponds and... More
