The historical Hotel Jeffery had something for everyone in our group: - they improvised an upstairs "Tent City" w/plenty of games & activities for our kids - the Saloon is lively and still authentic (the OLDEST operating Saloon in California!) - the Dining Parlor (gourmet enough for all the moms!) was excellent - the Nightlife was great every night -... more

Let's face it, you don't stay here for the plush appointments. Most rooms use central bathrooms. The rooms that do have private baths have little bathrooms with tiny showers. The floors creak, the walls are thin and the air conditioning may or may not keep the room temperature in your comfort zone. There are no elevators. No, you stay here... more

We spent 5 nights at the hotel Jeffery and had a great time. The room and bathroom were tiny, but spotlessly clean with fresh towels every day. The shower had great water pressure and tons of hot water. The hotel is dressed in Halloween garb and looked pretty spooky in different spots. Cherylann met us at the door when we... more

Now and then, we hit the road and drive until we hit something. In this case, it was sunset and we were miles from anywhere. But we were in Yosemite Gold Rush Country. There, like a beacon, stood a beautifiully restored antique hotel with the name blazoned proudly: "HOTEL JEFFREY" I lived in Gold Country from 1984 to 1998, so... more

Whilst perhaps not the most modern of hotels, Hotel Jeffery makes up for this with plenty of character and extremely friendly and helpful staff. The setting is straight out of a Western - an old saloon bar and restaurant, which are authentic in style and eclectically furnished. The food is great, (we would recommend eating in the more lively saloon... more

Great historic atmosphere and friendly check in staff. No tv in room but nice tv room. Lovely food in restaurant. Only problem was when I wanted to sleep just before 11 - there was loud music from the saloon bar until 12.15 - I think someone must have asked them to turn it down then. Same thing at breakfast in... more

Unfortunately my husband and I were not happy with our stay at the Hotel Jeffery. To name a few things... the air conditioner was on half the night and then went off in the middle of the night. Leaving it to be uncomfortably hot. The ceiling fan was extremely loud, so we couldn't have it on. We couldn't open the... more

The Hotel Jeffery was the site of our reunion and celebration and was perfect for our situation. With many out of towners it provided us a wonderful gathering place in accomidations that were way above the normal expectations. This is a hotel restored to the original flavor and decor of mid 1800's and it shines with the love and care... more

My brother's family and I stayed here the last weekend in July while visiting Yosemite, and the hotel and service were outstanding, so I wanted to drop a note. Its an 1850s hotel that's been restored by the couple that owns it (Cherylann & Peter). They're super friendly. Its 'European style' meaning most rooms share bathrooms and showers at the... more

My husband and I stayed here overnight on our way back from Yosemite NP. We stayed in a queen room without a bathroom. The room was fine and the location of the bathrooms were convenient to our room. Bath towels are left for you in the room as well as soap and cups. There is a community bathroom at the... more
