We went to Coronado for a long weekend and debated between the Hotel Del and the Glorietta Bay Inn. We are SO glad that we picked the Mansion at the Glorietta Bay Inn. The views of the bay were gorgeous and the rooms had so much charm (our room was also very comfortable and very clean). We went across the... more

We spent the 22nd and 23rd of February in the Sunset Room in the mansion part of the Inn. There are two parts to the property the Mansion, which is the Spreckels Mansion and the attached build on portion which is the Inn portion. The Mansion was built by Mr. Spreckels of the Spreckels sugar family. The Sunset room is... more

We have just returned home from a 10 day stay at the Glorietta Bay Inn. We had a wonderful time there and kudos go to the staff for their friendly, helpful attitudes. From the time we made our reservations, to checkin, throughout our stay and until we finally had to head home, everyone was wonderful. We were pleasantly surprised on... more

Earlier this month, my husband and I spent our anniversary in San Diego. We stayed in LaJolla, Coronado, and on the water near Seaport Harbor (I think that is what it is called). For our Coronado leg, we stayed at the Mansion at Glorietta Bay Inn. We could not have made a better choice. The location was perfect (right across... more

This is a beautiful property, in a lovely small town. It is located close to the beach and across from the famous Hotel Del Coronado. They have a great staff, especially Laura, at the desk. Our room was terrific and the grounds are marvelous. more

We stayed in the mansion area of the Glorietta Bay Inn in Coronado. We were in the Lurline Room (106) & were treated like royalty. The room is spacious with the most comfortable bed we've ever slept on. The chocolate cookies at the turn down service nightly was a treat & the cookies & milk were delicious. The breakfast in... more

The hotel has a great location, right across the street from the much pricier Del Coronado (which is directly on the beach). Shopping and restaurants are within walking distance. We opted for a standard room which, while hardly huge, was not unbearably cramped. It might not be worth paying extra for a balcony room with a view of the ocean... more

We spent the first half of our honeymoon at the amazing Glorietta Bay Inn in gorgeous Coronado, California. Coronado is beautiful. walking around you felt like you were in California circa 1963. The GBI compliments it beautifully. It is right near the beach (and what an amazing beach it was! Sand felt like flour) and it has a fraction of... more

The real question is: Why are you staying in Coronado? The beach (across main street and parking lot of Hotel Coranado) is not very pretty. California has so many beautiful beaches - why go to this one? Also, the airplanes fly directly over the Hotel Coronado. Which can be heard at The Glorietta Bay. The only positive reason to stay... more

We were celebrating our 10 year anniversary and wanted some place quiet and romantic. We difinitely found it! The room was wonderful and mansion itself is a great landmark. The staff was extraordinarily attentive and made the all the arrangements we asked for (transportation, meal reservations, etc.). The mansion is close to the beach, but far enough off the main... more
