This is the perfect beach retreat on Coronado Island. If you're heading to San Diego and really want to splurge, you'll love the Beach Village at the Del. It has all of the advantages of staying at the Del, but it's more secluded and less crowded than the main resort.

There are a number of different cottages and villas. We had one right on the boardwalk with a view straight out to the ocean. There was a fantastic firepit on the patio.

The whole places opens up quite nicely and has a small sitting area, a small kitchen area, the bedroom and a bathroom. You can close off the bedroom and bathroom or leave them open.

There was a full kitchen with a small fridge and small dishwasher. They had most of the pots and pans and a gas stove. I had some folks over and we cooked a nice dinner. (We got food from the Vonn's grocery store on the way in, but the concierge will also supply what you need, albeit with a steep mark-up.)
