I am a military wife. I travel a lot to see my husband in the area from LA county. This hotel is a great hotel for a quick getaway. The price is great for the hotel in the area. I had stayed in other hotels in the area that cost way more. (ex Ramada $119 per night) Valley Inn is... more
We recently spent 4 nights at this Inn. We started to leave after our first night but decided to stay mainly because of the beautiful, scenic and convenient location. Also, we had difficulty finding a place in the same area at short notice. So, we decided to stay. This place has the potential to become a real jewel for travelers... more
Horrid hotel - barely above a flophouse. The bedspreads and rug were ancient and threadbare, the beds were so uncomfortable we slept on the floor on our beach blanket and the furniture wasn't fit for Goodwill. The bathroom was smaller and dirtier than an airplane's. Couldn't find a hotel manager to save your life. We cut our vacation short to... more
This was our (my wife and I) first trip to San Diego and I booked the Village Inn because of the price and location. What I found is that all the reviews are correct. The place is old, the carpet is lacking, our bathroom was small, and there was dust on our ceiling fan, BUT the neighborhood and proximity to... more
We stayed at the Coronado Village Inn for a week in early May 2006 and had a great time. The location is perfect - very close to the beach - you can hear the ocean at night - and around the corner from Orange avenue and restaurants and pubs. Pete was great - telling us about coronado events and always... more
I thought it was a neat little hotel, and the price was certainly reasonable. Yes the bathroom is small and the floor seemed to incline slightly but the room was clean and you cannot beat the location. It was built in 1928 so you have to take that into consideration. I'd certainly stay there again. I'd recommend the hotel to... more
Unfortunately we checked in without looking closely at the room. The rug was filthy, dust was piled on lamp shades and surfaces. We had allergy attacks all night. The attendant was so reluctant to clean that she was delighted when we didn't stay a second night. Too bad, great location. Horrible fleabag. more
This place is an unbelievable dump!! Old, moldy, small, dusty, tacky, battered, old, past it's time, dirty, lacking personal care, did I say OLD??? This inn needs to be imploded!! I couldn't wait to leave! Had my sister and her family not been right across the street in a townhome, I would have moved out after the first night. Had... more
Village Inn Coronado is a fabulous place to stay and isn’t overpriced. My husband rented a bike and ferried into downtown San Diego each day for a week long convention while I stayed on Coronado Island and enjoyed studying and beach culture. The walking access to the town library, park, beach, and casual hangouts make Coronado Island a comfortable choice... more
