Let me begin by warning you that my husband and I are somewhat clean "freaks" and this did match our standards. Pros: very clean, nice staff, beautiful courtyard in between hotel rooms, flamingos outside along with ducks and nice pool area. The landscape (rivers, ponds and birds) were nice and kept the kids entertained. The staff was beyond attentive and... more
I'll be honest. I'm not terribly impressed with Marriott as a whole, so we were less than enthusiastic when this lovely property-- which opened as a Le Meridien-- was taken over by Marriott a number of years ago. Happily, a some things remained the same: service remained enthusiastic, young and friendly, grounds were well-tended, rooms were kept clean and tidy.... more
This hotel is situated in a less than great location on Coronado. Wi-fi in room is charged per day. Our room was upgraded to a "bay view," but as I sat on our balcony I saw the huge buildings of downtown San Diego, a series of fences, a pool in the distance, the military ships of the bay, and a... more
We stayed in a resort view room over the Memorial Day weekend. Its not advertised on their website, but they do have a promo code, ADV, for advanced purchase, non-refundable. We paid $189, plus taxes. Skip out on the parking. Plenty of safe street parking for free. We had 2 adjoining rooms, 163-164. Both were very musty smelling. We opened... more
Our family of 4 stayed here for 2 nights in late April. The location was great. We could take the ferry across to San Diego or walk to Hotel Del. I'm not sure the age of this hotel, but it seemed a little older. Rooms were good size, nothing fancy...standard Marriott or Hilton type rooms. I never did see the... more
be sure where to park, because hotel is very spread, you have to know which parking section is closer to your room, otherwise you will have to walk too far good location, right off the coronado bridge and withing the walking distance to hotel del area, so no need to rent a taxi, or drive around and hopelessly look for... more
stayed here for conference. Overall nice place, as Marriotts tend to be. Friendly staff, great amenities. The food is very good but repetitive if you are there for a week. Internet 13$ extra, parking 23$ extra per day so not great value when you add to the cost of the room. The hotel is low rise and very very long,... more
We stayed at Marriott Coronado Island for one week during the end of June and beginning of July. We were on honeymoon from Ireland. We had a fabulous experience from the welcoming and helpful staff to the impeccable colonial style bedroom, the perfect location with wonderful view to the breakfast which has yet to be rivalled by any hotel we've... more
We stayed here (2 adults, one small child) last week and had a wonderful experience. We stayed in a one bedroom villa and it was extremely clean (recently rennovated), spacious and conveniently located. Fantastic San Diego city views, large bathroom (with a great shower), large private patio, separate dining area, large bedroom, kitchen with small fridge - all in all,... more
