This Motel was wonderful. The price was affordable. The room was very clean. The sheets smelled fresh. The owners were both friendly and really helpful concerning restaurants recommendations and local info. I felt safe and enjoyed my visit. Recommended! :)

Stayed here the night before Columbia College orientation and loved it. They were so friendly and helpful at the front desk. The room was extremely comfortable, clean and neat. So glad there was a fridge in the room. Having gone there on short notice and very late at night, I appreciated the safe welcome feeling for the girls I had... More

I stayed here for 2 weeks finishing a travel therapy job in Sonora, CA - a ten minute commute. The price was better than extended stay accommodations in Sonora and allow a dog. It's not the Hilton, but owner Rob has done a great job renovating and will continue to do improvements. As a single female, he kept a close... More

One block from the historic gold town state park. Pulled in at 10pm and the friendly owner, Rob Goreham, took time to show my kids how to pan for gold and taught them about gold nuggets and pay dirt. The room rate was reasonable and the room was clean. Very safe neighborhood. The bath towels were very soft and smelled... More

My fiancee and I spent New Year's Eve 2015 at the Columbia Inn. The new owner, Rob, has really done a superb job in upgrading this Motel. I had stayed here years ago and it was fairly old and in need of repair. We were really surprised and pleased with the obvious care and pride they have taken to refurbish... More

This is a belated review after two stays this past summer, and it was a breath of fresh air to see the enthusiastic new managers and the little things they had done to upgrade the place. With the new owners, Dennis and Doris, this place has done a "180." A reviewer in July 2011 slammed this place and said it... More

Enjoyed my stay here. The proprietors were friendly and accommodating. The room was very clean, though dated. My biggest issue was the exterior noise. Large trucks going in and out at the adjacent business, all hours. I realize the motel owners can't control that much, but it eliminated a restful sleep.

With 3 grand sons (age 6, 7 & 8) in tow, I decided to visit Columbia for some summer fun in the foothills. After reading some reviews, I booked with Columbia Inn and I couldn't have been happier with the choice. We even stayed an extra night just because we felt so comfortable there. We received a 2 bedroom for... More

We were on our way up to Lake Alpine, but the drive from Orange County was just to much for one day. The answer was to stop for the night in Columbia, an awesome old mining town from the 1850's, located at the base of the Sierra's. We chose the Columbia Inn as it was within walking distance from town.... More
