Columbia itself is gorgeous, magic really, so to stay anywhere but the City Hotel or The Fallon means leaving Columbia and why would anyone want to do that? Both hotels are gorgeous period places but with AC and heat so win win. The staff is great and unobtrusive so it's like staying in a country house you have to yourself.

The 2 bedroom cottage was located 1/2 block from historic Columbia's main street. The cottage was clean and had a well equipped kitchen. The bedrooms were pretty small with a double bed in one room and 2 twin beds in the other one. I took my daughter and 2 grandsons in August so they could be immersed in the history... More

I was a bit hesitant to stay at this hotel at first with all the talk of ghosts. It made my nights stay a bit restless. Staff is excellent, rooms are clean. The only downside was the communal bathrooms. Columbia City Hotel is located in a great little old western town within the Historic Park. It's a must see. And... More

We were a family of six so decided to stay in the Park's newest cottage over Labor Day. While it was very nice to have the space, a swamp cooler (it was hot), television so the kids could watch DVDs, I probably would have preferred staying in the hotel ... especially when I found out it was nearly empty. But,... More

The hotel dates back to the 19th century. The rooms are restored in thier original sate, apart from air conditioning and plumbing. Showers are in the corridor, bathrobes and amenities are provided. The reception was very friendly, the receptionist was very helpful in advising restaurants and outings. We haven't been bothered by gjosts, in fact in these past four weeks... More

We loved this hotel. It was packed with antiques. We sat in the communal area and played our cards at a real Victorian card table! It was like a museum where you are allowed to use the exhibits! Our room had a private loo, but we had to use showers just down the corridor. As bathrobes were provided and the... More

This was a wonderful stay in a historic setting. We could not have dreamt of a more authentic experience. We were surrounded by antiques that in most places one cannot even touch, little use have for their use. What a wonderful, serene, setting. The reconstructed town was deserted at night, it was very quiet, but in the morning it came... More

At check-in we were greeted by Wade who also toured us to our rooms. Wade is a great guy with alot of interesting knowledge of the property and the area. The rooms were historically furnished with amazing bedframes, dressers, and wallpaper. A common room upstairs as well as the balcony were great for hanging out. Unfortunately the restaurant and saloon... More

Great hotel--very friendly people, comfy beds with giant headboards, beautiful antiques, quiet. (And we were told the place is haunted by a nice lady ghost.) Really cool to plunge yourself into the Old West Gold Rush experience. Staff gave us the code & demo on how to unlock front entrance to let ourselves back in at night--when we had the... More

As others have said; this is a hotel that tries to look/feel like an 18XX era hotel. OK, so no TV, phone, etc, but the air conditioning works great. Wifi also worked fine. Read the other reviews and decide if a little adventure is what you want. You and the other guests are likely to be the only ones in... More
