Travel to Coalinga intended for sleep after a long travel day. The hotel was easy to drive to but the room was older and smelly. The staff was nice and friendly and the breakfast was adequate. The hotel is located next to a Dennys restaurant and gas stations and fast foods allow the traveler options.

This hotel is quite convenient to the traveler along the 5 freeway. They offer all discounts, military being the best! Who Ra! The rooms are clean yet the beds are too soft for me!!! All amenities in your room except makeup mirror. The pool is closed for the winter and not much else for kiddos to do there. The breakfast... More

We travel up and down the I-5 frequently, and have tried many of the motels and inns in the area already, looking for the best price. This time, we wanted a little more space. While the room cost more than the average I-5 motel, it was still overall worth it. The room had two double beds, and a sofa bed.... More

Good location to spend the night. gas stations and a Denny's two minutes away. we were assigned a 'handicap' room, although we are not handicap. As we were a 'walk in' I assume the other rooms were booked. Dinner at Denny's....so what can I say about that? The food was bland and totally tasteless, long waits due to few waitresses.... More

Thank you so much for taking the time to write about your experience. We are a small hotel with only 48 units and tend to sell out quickly, which is probably why you ended up with an ADA room. I am sorry to hear that the breakfast food was no up to par, due to our small kitchen space we... More

i have been staying at this hotel for many many years. It has kept with the times with respect to maintenance and some upgrades. It is always clean and tidy. The breakfast is decent although in a very small room which makes for overcrowding very quickly. For first time travelers be prepared for the unkind aroma of the animal feed... More

A nice clean Best Western along I-5. Just a highway stop so don't expect any fine dining. Denny's is about all you can expect. Clean rooms, however hot water for shower was difficult to control. Big cattle ranch nearby, so expect a bit of farm odor.

Thank you so much for the review. I would like to apologize because, from the sounds of things, you were not as quite blown away as we hoped. I did notify our maintenance staff and they took care of the hot water issue. As you mentioned, we do our best to keep the rooms nice and tidy. For fine dining... More

The Best Wester Big Country in Coalinga, CA is an excellent place to stay when traveling Interstate 5. The accommodations are excellent, the rooms clean, spacious, well appointed, and conveniently located. It is very close to one of the very best restaurants along the central part of the 5 fwy. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Compared to other central valley hotels Big Country was cleaner and "fresher". Too bad there is a stock yard near by. But proxemity to Harris Ranch is a good thing...best restaurant for miles and miles!

The hotel is perfectly reasonable for the price and convenient to the Harris Ranch for dinner. Located halfway between SF and LA on the 5. Unfortunately, the odor of the local cattle-based economy pervades the air.
