The property itself is a nice property. The rooms are tastefully decorated and it has a nice atmosphere. The location is okay. However, the manager was so incredibly rude, not only to me but to the Best Western customer care person who spoke with her on my behalf as well. Clearlake is a challenging town to find a place to stay in the summer and this place came as a recommendation. All I can say is this is a place to avoid. The hotel is ok. Room was ok, staff great. However, they billed me for 2 nights when I only stayed one (reservation was screwed up as well). I have stayed in this hotel alot for work. I have also stayed at the Travelodge down the street and at other places around. The qualification for this review is that the BW El Grande is pretty much the ONLY choice in Clearlake. I was presently suprised with this location. The rooms must of been recently rentovated, as they were nice, spacious, and newer funiture. The room was very clean, and housekeeping was quick to respond, for extra towels, and a roll a way bed. I even checked out the pool, and hot tub area. Not bad for a Best Western, I thought.... more
