This is a nice little place to stay and is right on the lake. We arrived early but were still able to go to our room straight away. We had done all the check-in via text & email and they had put the A/C on so our room was lovely and cool. Facilities provided were good and the room was spotlessly clean. We had been warned that because of the heat & algae the lake wasn't suitable for swimming in but they have a nice pool area which we had all to ourselves. Towels for swimming were provided in your room and we also had a little deck to sit outside our room. We had a really quiet, relaxing afternoon by the pool and the views over the lake are pretty. The staff we met were all friendly & helpful. We enjoyed our stay. I would say that the Clear Lake area itself looked quite run down and shabby. We were only staying one night passing through which was fine but I guess if you are there to go boating or fishing it's OK, couldn't see there would be much else to do.

Our first visit to Clearlake (or Clear Lake) and we'll get the bad news out of the way first. The lake itself is subject to so-called algae blooms in the heat of summer, which means no swimming in the lake. Activities *on* the lake, such as kayaking or renting pontoon boats, seem fine. And there is a nice pool on the property for swimmers and/or pool loungers. There are 27 cottages. 4 or 5 of them face the lake directly, which makes for a great place to sit; ours faced the lake. Most of the cottages seem to have at least a partial view from their porch. The cottages range in size and price, so review carefully when you make your reservation. I had no problem parking close to our cottage. Cottages have good beds, a living and dining area, and a kitchen (important: see below about dining). There is a modest daily charge for dogs; but we also received a nice goody bag for our pooch. Our porch had a gate, so we could let the dog off-leash on the porch. Again, check the description as this varies by cottage. The office is typically closed (the check-in is "no touch"), but there is quick response to texts to the office number. There are a few places to eat in town; nothing fancy nearby. A tasty Mexican restaurant, a nice coffeehouse, a good BBQ. The nearby Fresh Etc grocery store is well stocked for a range of shoppers, including those looking for prepared food. All in all, I can heartily recommend staying here.

Clean and pretty property with a nice view of the lake . We stayed in Cottage #15 , looks updated , very clean and bed was comfortable. I appreciated that they turned on the AC prior to our arrival since it was a hot day . The cottage included more amenities than I expected. The manager Bob communicated via text & email on check in & check out instructions. The no contact /lockbox was easy & convenient. A great place to stay if you’re in the Clearlake area !

Extremely clean cabin and property. Great interaction with Bob and Nakita in booking and extending our stay through Christmas. We are looking forward to coming back again and I will bring the kayaks. I liked the "no contact" check in once I understood the process. The lake is right there, the property is very well maintained. Washers, dryers, BBQ's, ice and good parking. We felt very secure and welcome. It was a very relaxing and pleasurable mini vacation.

Bob and his staff were extremely welcoming to our family and went above and beyond to ensure that we had what we needed during our stay. Our family stayed in cabins 25 and 26 and they were clean and inviting. The cabins were wonderful and included a coffee maker for K-cups, a microwave and a mini-fridge, along with a table and 4 chairs, 2 queen beds and a flat screen tv. The offer a “no touch” check in and online digital signatures which made it very easy to check in and check out. I highly recommend this location, especially if you have a larger group and need more than one cabin.

Clearlake, CA is not a getaway destination and I wish I had known that before I booked. This place had good reviews so we booked here just trying for a weekend getaway. Pool was adequate. Rooms were sparkling clean and spacious. Area just doesn't provide anything to do, street walkers are everywhere, and nothing in town is updated. And the lake algae was unfortunate but we rented a boat on the other side of the lake in Lakeport at Disney's Boat Rentals and had a fun day tubing. All in all, the place is fine to rent from but you don't want to visit Clearlake, CA any time soon.

We booked for 3 nights and could only stand to stay 1. They intentionally mislead. The messaging they give you pre-check-in is "the algae are harmless"; the letter you find in the hotel room post-check-in warns about cyanotoxin and only after I let my kids swim in the pool did I do enough online research to realize that my kids were being harmed from inhalation. I understand that they need to make a living, but doing it at the expense of their guests' health is terrible. I asked for a refund for the 2 nights we didn't stay for, but never heard back. Given the health trouble we had, I think a refund of the nights we didn't stay would be fair. Do not go! We had lung pain, eye infections, fatigue. It's not worth it.

The website and pictures show a welcoming and clean environment. But, don't let the website or pictures fool you for a minute. The owner is high strung, suspicious and highly innapropriate. Bob, the owner is very rude and condascending. I went here to visit family and celebrate my sons birthday with plans to rent a jet ski or pontoon boat which you can't do due to the lake conditions and they don't tell you the truth or that you should not get into the lake because it is a health hazard. Also,There is no privacy and you will be micro-managed and watched with all the cameras around the facility and I wouldn't be surprised if there were cameras or recording devices in the rooms. Also, this area is like a 3rd world country, very rundown shacks and methamphatime laiden community. I felt very unsafe there. Not to mention the smell of raw sewage. You can't spend time outside because of the stench and the Natzi watching every move you make. It does not make for a relaxing and friendly vacation. Do yourself a favor and pick The Lodge at Blue Lakes. You will thank me! Don't even consider this disgusting smelly 3rd world country. You cannot go in the lake or fish in it because it is considered unhealthy. You won't want to anyway because you will vomit from the stench. Good luck if you pick this place.

The guy who assisted me with the contactless process was nice. Check in was seamless. The place is super relaxing. I was in unit 15 and it’s perfect coz there’s a big tree in front that gives shade while sitting on the porch. The room itself is cute and relaxing. The AC is freezing (which is good). The surrounding area seems sketchy but when I entered the property, I felt safe.

Cozy, clean, quiet lakeside cottages with great scenic views of the lake. We had #20 which is roomy and well situated with an unobstructed view of the lake. This property is pet friendly for a $20.00 per night charge. Be advised however that there is a predictable algae bloom which has a pungent odor...this is worse when it is hot outside.
