I am so thankful that I visited El Primero Boutique Bed & Breakfast Hotel! It is a quiet respite away from all the hustle and bustle in most large cities. I spent time here over the Memorial Day weekend. The room was cozy and had the most comfortable bed I had ever slept in! The hosts were amazing and provided... More

El Primero was a really friendly family hotel on the south side of San Diego. Very easy to find from the highway. The proprieters are very nice people and the hotel feels very safe. San Diego and the Coronara Island are minutes away by car. Free parking is a welcome bonus and breakfast is a relaxed buffet with hot options.... More

We stayed here for five nights in mid March. Our hosts Sol and Pie were wonderful, and we had several nice conversations with them. The hotel was always clean and tidy, and room supplies were always readily available. Our room, facing the courtyard at the end away from the street, was quiet enough to leave our window open all night.... More

Charming old hotel beautifully updated and furnished. Delicious breakfast in the morning featuring fresh fruit from the owners own garden. All this plus friendly attentive hosts made our stay a memorable experience. Will definitely be back on our next trip to San Diego.

Stayed a night in this Historic charming building that provided us with a comfortable bed, friendly hosts, satisfying breakfast, and view of the expansive courtyard. I encountered a problem with the room but it was immediately taken care of and I was happy. The building was built in the 30's so some parts were showing age but it was not... More

We booked at El Primero last minute, due to our furniture not arriving yet to our new apartment. Despite it being about 11 pm when we arrived, Katie met us at the door and warmly welcomed us in. The room was clean and quiet, and the breakfast spread (including homemade banana bread) hit the spot. Katie made us feel right... More

I had such a good experience at El Primero! The owners are personable and welcoming. The breakfast was so much nicer than regular breakfast you get at a predictable hotel. Fresh fruit, and good selection of food. The beds were Very comfortable, and had a luxurious feel with soft Clean cotton bedding on a down comforter. I was there four... More

Every year my wife, my son, my mother-in- law and I travel to San Diego for Christmas with my mother. My mother-in- law stays at El Primero, since there is no room at my mom's for her. She loves it at the hotel. The owners are very nice and accommodating to her. She loves the historical nature of the hotel... More

What a fabulous place to stay. We nearly didn't stay here because of the location but called Pie who assured us that the public transport was reliable and cheap and literally at the door. How true (but grab a timetable ASAP). Pie and Sol are the best hosts you could wish for. A lovely family atmosphere and outstanding hospitality. What... More
