We are looking forward to our third stay at The Grateful Bed. Our past two experiences have been excellent. The achitecture of the inn, tasteful interior, spotless rooms, delicious breakfast, and the perfect hosts make for a wonderful stay. more

Hidden gem in Chico, good B&B in a nice neighbourhood close to the city. Room was small, but beautifully decorated with big bathroom and very good bed. Common area very comfortable. Hosts Carol and Rick are extremely friendly and we had very good discussions with them. Breakfast was one of the best ever! The only minus comes from the map... more

My wife and I stayed in the smallest room and it was big enough for our needs. The hosts, Carole and Rick, are charming, genuinely welcoming, and ready for a chat anytime. For some reason, they are both terrible about giving accurate driving directions, a minor fault. The common area is charming. The two breakfasts were among the best we... more

It was more than I could of imagined. The room was wonderful and the bath room was wonderful was too. Rick and Carole Turner were perfect hosts. It was one of the most beautiful B&B I have ever seen. I felt as if I were being treated like queens. The breakfast was absolutly fantice. Thank you for catering to my... more

when you stay in a town like chico you have to be wary. any hotel may have recently had a wild fraternity party or prom gathering in your room and it may not be as clean or nice as you would like. not true with the grateful bed which is probably cleaner than almost anyone's own home (of course not... more

Very attractive and clean. Excellent breakfasts. We picked the largest room ("Sweet Dreams") as it had a king bed. Looking at the other rooms in the house, it was well worth the little extra. Very large with huge bathroom with shower and antique tub. Owners very friendly and informative about the area. Some construction going on nearby, but was not... more

The Grateful Bed has to be one of the best B&B's I've ever stayed in - clean, clutter-free and quiet, the Grateful Bed is the epitome of modern style marrying a historic house. Other B&Bs with crumbling flowery wallpaper and googly-eyed dolls dotting the shelves should take note: you don't have to be chintzy to be good. The Grateful Bed... more

It was spotlessly clean, with a nice common space. Though the room was quite small, it was beautifully decorated and we could stash our luggage in the closet, so we had room to move around. There was a dresser with space for clothing, and the bathroom was quite large and lovely, with nice amenities. And yes, as another reviewer reported,... more

Distinguished by its location (nearly adjacent to Enloe Hospital and very close to Chico State University), Chico’s The Grateful Bed raises the standard for Victorian-themed B&Bs. Of course there is wireless Internet. Of course there is afternoon sherry…or merlot…or chardonnay. And of course there is a bedside basket of Ghirardelli chocolates. But besides that there is breakfast by candlelight: French-roast... more

My wife and I stayed one night in this lovely, clean B&B. Carol and Rick are delightful people. We may very well return to Chico simply to visit with them again. Do not hesitate to stay here. Mitch more
