This renovated farm house with a modern addition is the perfect base camp for fishing, hiking, and visiting Mt. Lassen. It is located in the charming town of Chester about an hour east of I-5 across from Lake Almanor. Eva and Filip are fabulous hosts and very friendly. The breakfast alone is worth the stop. The farm house rooms are... More

Beautiful grounds! Parking is a bit tight but there is an alternate lot on the other side of the property. The staff is super friendly and helpful. There is a wonderful living room and game room area. The front porch and chairs are relaxing and tranquil. The breakfasts are served in three courses. A fruit, main dish and then a... More

Not only were the owners warm and inviting but the house and yard were beautiful. We stayed in the historic part of the original house and had a shared bathroom however no guests were in the other room to share with. The only issue we had was there was no air conditioning in the old house and we arrived during... More

We stayed in the Garden Room which was tastefully decorated, had a very large bedroom with a spacious bathroom. The bed was very comfy and the area was peacefully quiet at night. The main lounge in the House (reached by covered verandahs) is filled with books to enjoy. Relaxed atmosphere made us feel at home as we sipped sherry and... More

We stayed here for two nights in the Rose room and had a wonderful experience. The room was clean, very spacious and the beds were nice and comfortable. It's in a great location if you plan to visit Lassen National park.... half hour drive to the park. Breakfast was a lovely 3 course meal... Delicious! Eva and Philip are wonderful... More

My wife and I had a great Valentine's weekend away from the crowds. Great food, quiet area. Perfect time to leave the city behind and just be together. Had a great dinner at the Red Onion too. Warm and welcoming.

In the small town of Chester CA next to Lake Almanor is a great B&B. Breakfast every morning where wonderful. Eva and Philip are great host and will take care of all your wants and needs. They have several rooms and a separate lodge also. Nicely decorated. Comfortable beds. Fireplace and Sun-room in the main hose are great. Breakfast was... More

The children wanted to see snow for Christmas, so we booked a stay far in advance. The weather, unfortunately, did not cooperate as there was little snow on the ground; the upside was that we discovered this charming B&B. We booked two rooms for 3 adults and 3 grade-school kids: the Bidwell Suite (two adjoining rooms with a queen bed... More

This was really a very nice bed and breakfast, with most all the things you'd hope to see. Very nice manicured lawn and property, and a really great common area to relax, play games, or just hang out. The room had plenty of charm, and was complete with a wood burning stove and all the supplies necessary for a nice... More

We enjoyed our stay at The Bidwell House. Staff was friendly and the home is incredibly comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and different each day. We went for one night and asked to stay another then another. They have a deal, stay for two nights and get the third night free. DEAL!!! As you can see from the pictures, it is... More
