chester looks like one of those towns you see in the movies that has only a main street and few more houses around it. it actually seats at the bottom of lake Almanor, that we didn't plan on visiting, but as the day folded we found out it is also has some nice trails.we only meant to stay there as... Large, spacious room that was immaculate. Motel was recently renovated. If you need a hair dryer, simply ask for one at the desk. Friendly service. We didn't expect it to be so nice. An excellent value.

We stayed two nights at this little hotel located very centrally in the small town of Chester. We were in town for a wedding. The rooms are clean. We chose upstairs so that we wouldn't hear the upstairs visitors walking around. We got a room with two queen beds, however they are not queens. They are doubles. They also have... More

My husband and I made a planned stop in Chester for the night during our Northern Califronia road trip. We were so surprised how nice and clean this motel was. It reminded us a lot of the Wilderness Lodge in Disney World. This motel is such a great price, extremely clean, cute with their themed wilderness decor, and fairly new!... More

We chose this motel for an overnight stay after reading some of the reviews on tripadvisor. We want to add our endorsement of this very comfortable and reasonable place to stay. What were the pleasant surprises? Amenities that have been missing at much more expensive motels! Thick fluffy towels; real glass glasses that we could use for our "beverages of... More

Decent value for the area. Room was clean albeit in need of some renovation. Service from the owners was attentive. The tv was tinyas noted by others but surprisingly (relatively) easy to see despite its size. Some of the other guests were a bit rough around the edges but I didn't experience any problems with them. For one night it... More

Clean, cheap hotel in best location for lassen volcanic park; diner is opposite and other restaurant next door. Friendly owner and free wifi. Two issues; in the room we stayed in, the bathroom was huge but the washbasin was outside in the bedroom. Visiting the loo in the middle of the night meant disturbing the family. Second, as other commenters... More

We enjoyed staying here at Chester. The front desk was friendly and attentive, the room was SUPER clean and comfy. The bath area was BIG and roomy with lots of fresh thick towels to use. No problems with anything or anyone.... would stay again if in the area.

Stayed here twice in July 2013. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Parking abundant. Chester isn't a great town for dining, but that isn't the motel's fault. Tech issues here were a disappointment: the WiFi only works in one or two rooms closest to the hotel lobby; the satellite TV is so difficult to navigate i pretty much gave up the... More

We stayed here while visiting our son who works at Lassen Volcanic National Park. We were honestly worried that this would be a "Bates Motel" experience. We were pleasantly surprised to find the room very clean and the staff welcoming and accommodating. There are not a lot of frills - no cosmetics to speak of, small TV. But there is... More
