This hotel is directly in the middle of nowhere, and that's why my husband and I love it! No cell service which is amazing when you tiring to escape the stress of running a business. Their wifi is amazing, so you can still internet it up. The rooms are small, but perfect. Nice kitchen area to cook meals. The restraint... More

Great place to stay. Nothing better then a soak in my private hot tub after a long day of killing varmint and drinking. Highly recommend if you're in the Cedarville. The staff is attentive and most folk in town are very kind.

This is the third time I've stayed at the hot springs during the Surprise Valley Writers Conference. I don't get migraines when I stay there like I used to at the J n' R. While my room (00 or 13, depending on whether or not you're superstitious) could have used detailing (cleaning ceilings, baseboards, etc.) everything was sanitary. It is... More

This is a very isolated spot in the Northern Ca. Nevada, Oregon area, not too far from Gerlach Nv. where The Burning Man Festival is at. This a small resort that has its own Geo-thermal Spring. Geologists go their to study how to turn the Hot water into energy. Each unit has its own controllable in ground hot tub. Very... More

We stumbled on this place after driving 6.5 hours to look at an Airstream trailer nearby. We drove up, and the very pleasant front desk clerk (Jenny) showed us a number of rooms that were available before we chose. This place is totally cool. Every room has its own private, enclosed hot tub in a rear patio. The tubs are... More

My lady and I found this place to be an absolute joy. The staff are wonderful, the facilities are the nicest for 100 miles in any direction, and each room has it's own private patio with hot tub! The tub has controls so you can make it a cool tub during the hot days and a hot tub during the... More

It is 5 miles from Motel to the small town of Cedarville. There is no phones or TV in the rooms. You better have your cell phone if you need to call anyone. The office is only open from 9-5! They take a hour for lunch and don't plan on trying to find it in the dark. It is not... More

Amazing place. Really love it here. We stayed in the standard room, got everything we need, kitchen, fridge, tv with dvd player, natural spring tub out back, great view. We were supposed to stay for 1 night and ended up staying here 3 nights instead. Very relaxing. And we´ve had great service. So relaxing to stay here, amazing. I want... More

My fiancé and I visited these hot springs. I almost don't want to tell people about surprise valley hot springs, because I want to keep as our little secret, but it's too good not to share! It's romantic and very private. I'd recommend bringing food and beverages, and don't expect to be waited on hand and foot because its not... More

Surprise Valley is a unique place. If you want to relax in quiet solitude but have modern comforts come here. We were a group of 4 and stayed in their large well-equipped two bedroom (full kitchen too) that had the natural spring hot tub inside the living room. The hot tub was clean and the water was nice to the... More
