My wife and I were driving to Carmel to spend a few days with some friends. My wife is a stroke survivor, and cannot make the car trip in one day, so we decided to stop in Cayucos, as we have stayed there several times for longer stays and love the quaint village atmosphere and several good restaurants. The difficulty... more

Travelling from LA to San Francisco, we needed to be 1/2 way on night 1 with limited travel time & a plane to catch. We left LA late & knew we'd get in VERY late! I called Rebecca around 9:30 at night & explained how late we were running. As we were travelling with young children (1 disabled) she kindly... more

This is a well maintained and nicely updated vintage motel in a charming beach town. Nothing fancy--just a good night's sleep at a fair price (the way it was when the place was new 40-50 years ago.) Very close to the beach (and just a couple of blocks from the highly recommended "Sea Shanty" restaurant for killer shrimp scampi.) more

I booked a room at this motel when I decided to return home through Cayucos from a trip up north. On the way up, we stayed at the Seaside Motel and had a wonderful experience, unfortunately, there were no rooms available on the way back. Upon check in, I was disappointed to see the room - definitely nothing special, and... more

My wife and i stayed from 7/3 to 7/7 at the Cayucos Motel room #1 We checked in with Donna in a breeze and found our room clean and smelling like the ocean. Spent some time playing ping pong while other guests were using the BBQ. Had a perfect spot for the parade and loved the breakfast treats in the... more

We liked this motel. Clean and nice bedding. Good for the price and very close to the beach. Nice breakfast. Stayed there for a three night weekend. Management was wonderful. Would return again except for one problem. The walls of the room are so thin I could hear the conversations and snoring of the people next door as if they... more

My wife and I we just slept one night in this motel (31.8.07). Even though we paid approx. US 130.-- for the room, we must really say that every "cent" of the price was worth. The room was not so big, but very clean, cosy and extremely quite. Breakfast is in the price included and it was very good (enough... more

My friend and I stayed one night at this motel over President's Day weekend, and we loved it! Cayucos Motel is small (only 6 rooms). We stayed in room 4, which had a coffeemaker, minifridge, and TV/VCR (there were a ton of videos in the motel office available for rental). When we arrived in the evening we asked for recommendations... more

The Tidewater is an excellent choice in Cayucos. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Very warm staff make you feel right at home. This motel is just steps from the beach, and you are right in the middle of town so you can walk to anything. We loved the recliner chairs out on the lawn! Check it out! more
