The best part of this motel is that it's kind of in the middle between Monterey and Santa Cruz and it's pretty cheap compared with others in those areas. Facility seem to be ok from the outside; inside though is another story. This is a low-budget motel. If you're looking for frills, go elsewhere and pay more. We wanted a night out of town on the coast and a clean room & bed. I stayed at the artichoke in while working out of town I found the innkeeper to be extremely rude he refused to clean our rooms we all got rashes from the towels there was blood stains on the sheets not a good place. Positives: Clean sheets on bed near the highway to get out of there Negatives: Expensive for what it is Shower mouldy Stained carpet Room stank Bad smell Unhelpful manager Rowdy during the night- fighting, vomiting We only stopped here because we were tired from our drive down. My advice, keep driving.

I checked in and got room 206. The room was dirty and there was what looked like blood on one of the chairs and the drapes. My first room smelled awefull and the tv remote was not working, after 3 attempts to fix the remote and attitude from the desk clerk I changed rooms . It smelled better but no remote.
