If i knew how lame my stay here would have been, i would have shoveled up the extra money to stay down the street at best western! best western looked like a resort in comparison! lush greenery, and balcony rooms...*sigh* and they only had a room that faced the freeway, so it was noisy. OH and im pretty sure they... more

One of the worst motel stays of my life....the room didn't even have a box of Kleenex.....I realized this as I was crying after a night of no sleep due to the loud "climate control" system (really just a fan that can be switched from hot to cold) and constant freeway noise. The rooms looked like they haven't been redecorated... more

The motel 6 is a normal motel next to Santa Barbara. It is situated on the higway No. 1. The service was ok, nonthing special, there was a laundry in the motel so we could wash our clothes. The room was ok, it was clean and there was a big tv in it. We had a non-smoking room. I would... more

Some friends and I planned a weekend trip in Santa Barbara and decided to save some money by getting rooms at the Motel 6 in Carp. We booked our rooms well in advance and requested two non smoking adjoined rooms. Unfortunately, due to a full house, they were unable to accommodate our requests. That was a disappointment, but not a... more

We had stayed at the Motel 6 Carpinteria South last year. It was fine--nothing special, but it was clean and served its purpose. This time that Motel 6 South was booked so I made one at the North location. What a waste of money($75!)! We live in Los Angeles and were meeting a friend for dinner in Santa Barbara. We... more

We stay here and I thought it was going to be better then a mom and pops motel. These rooms have no iron, no microwave in the lobby, the non-smoking room we stay at smell like someone has been smoking, and no A/C. more

I was taking my daughter to UCSB freshman orientation and had to spend the night due to her early morning check in the next day. I did not want to spend much money just to sleep and check out early. I thought it would be okay from previous reviews, but I was wrong. It was a subpar room in my... more

The staff here is rude and unhelpful, and the manager just ignores problems and waits for them to go away. I stayed on the first floor right next to the office, left my room first thing in the morning and didn't come back until 3:30 and my room hadn't been cleaned yet. I've been trying to talk to the manager... more

Ah, Motel6. I haven't stayed in one in a very long time, but I remember when I traveled as a youngster with my budget-minded parents in the summer, we stayed there often. I don't think much has changed since that time, about 20 years ago. I have had some BAD experiences with Motel6. (Try having a reservation at the Michigan... more

We stayed here over Memorial Day weekend in 2007 because the budget options in Santa Barbara were already booked solid. Carpenteria is about a 20 minute drive on the freeway from Santa Barbara, and is a nice town in its own right. The rooms facing the freeway are noisy, but we changed to a room on the side of the... more
