For me this was a pass-thru on the way to Tahoe for a wedding. What a find! Lovely room, quiet and calm setting, great host, wonderful breakfast, convenient location. Bill takes great care of his property and his guests. My stay was book-ended by two sets of returning guests who would be returning again in the future - you can't... More

Shooting Star was a real find for us. Bill was a great help during our stay with suggestions as well as a good conversationalist during breakfast. Our room was clean and more than adequate in size. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom and walk in shower were also spacious. Though located across the street from the volunteer fire company,... More

I came up here with my mom from the Bay Area for Labor Day weekend. What a nice spot! Our room was very comfortable, quiet and clean. Location was great--two seconds from the lake, near lots of hiking trails and fairly close to Tahoe City. The breakfasts were delicious--lots of fresh fruit and vegetables and a lot of it was... My mother and I recently met up in San Fran and drove up to Lake Tahoe to Bills gorgeous cabin in the woods (over looking the lake of course) We stayed 5 nights and had an unreal experience. Beautiful home and a quiet setting, perfect relaxation! Highly recommended.

We spent two nights at the Shooting Star. Our host, Bill, could not have been more accommodating....our schedule was his schedule. We like being in a quiet place but not too far from activities and the Shooting Star is just that. Rooms are well appointed and comfortable. We could walk to the lake and to a good restaurant and a... More

Rustic cedar house well located for all things North Lake Tahoe. Large rooms, large common area/tv room. Bill is a really friendly guy who steered us to a great local bar/restaurant/hangout. It's barely off the main drag so very quiet. Very pleased we chose this spot to stay. And much better than average coffee.

We loved, loved, loved this place! Bill built this house and small B&B from the ground up, and it shows in the attention to detail. This place is beautiful. Only three rooms, so it really feels intimate and inviting. It is tastefully decorated and has lots of nice spots to hang out to read a book, have a drink, play... More

Everything about our stay was relaxing, cozy and comfortable. The fountain in the foyer and peaceful music playing in the background were nice touches. Bill is an attentive host, tending to the needs of his guests without being intrusive. Each morning he prepares a full and delicious breakfast. Our room was spacious and the corner fireplace made it toasty warm.... More

My husband and I stayed in the Carnelian Room for 3 nights in January. Bill and Aimee were great hosts and provided a wonderful different breakfast each day: Frittata with bacon the first day, waffles with sausage the second day, and eggs (any way you want) with sausage the third day. All were beautifully plated with fruit and absolutely delicious.... More

We stayed here for two nights in November and greatly enjoyed it. The inn is small, only three guest rooms, but the common areas are large, comfortable and well appointed. Bill, the owner, really put his heart into making this inn a great place for guests to spend a few days. He makes a tasty breakfast, but more importantly he... More
