What a splendid place!. The gardens are beautiful, the area peaceful and the location whtin walking diatance of most everything in the village. Right across from a countypark, where we and our dogs met several nice people, also with dogs. The complimentary breakfast is available inside a conference room just a short walk from all the other rooms.Breakfast can also... more

We stayed at the Carmel Valley Lodge for 3 nights in March 2008. Our room was spacious with 2 queen beds and a small patio. Decor a little dated, not luxurious, but everything was extremely clean and and comfortable. Coffe maker, hair dryer in the room. The surrounding gardens are spacious with lots of trees and flowers. There is a... more

To say this place is run down is a huge understatement. I room looked like something out of a 1960's TV show. The pool and spa was broken, the exercise room was a joke, and the breakfest was old cereal and hard bread. The staff who cleaned the room only made the bed, nothing else. The place is in worse... more

1. As others have mentioned, there is a $25 service fee added to the bill no matter what. I booked the room through Hotwire, which normally takes care of all taxes and fees, and still got a separate charge on checkout of $25. This was after I left a nice tip for the cleaning staff in the room. This is... more

We've been here twice and loved it both times. This time we were lucky enough to have a cottage with a fireplace. Part of the charm is the real wood fireplace ready for you to light with the s'mores kit waiting for you by the side. The other part of the charm is how dog friendly this property is! You... more

The accommodations were dirty, loud, poorly kept, and uncomfortable! The LACK of AC made it very stuffy and hot, and the carpets had obviously not been vacuumed recently. Mattresses had protruding springs, internet did not work in the rooms, and staff was not helpful. For $100 less each night, we changed to a much, much nicer hotel down the road.... more

We just spent New Year's weekend at the Carmel Valley Lodge and had a wonderful time. It is comfortable and cozy and most importantly-- very dog friendly. The staff was wonderful, the complimentary breakfast was filling, and the grounds were very beautiful. I didn't have super high expectations since it is realitively inexpensive and the photos on their website make... more

My wife, dog and I come to the Lodge a few times a year to get away from the valley heat. We've been coming to the Lodge since 1999. The reason why we come here is because of the dog friendly town of Carmel Valley, the close proximity to Carmel & Monterey, the excellent wineries and the wonderful service we... more

Very dog friendly place and town! Quiet and relaxing. Hotel has nice large pool and grounds, but the hot tub looked really old and yellow so didn't try it. Dog even got to hang out with us on the pool patio! Staff was very eager to please and surprisingly dog and family friendly! Wine tasting rooms and restaurants within walking... more

My husband and I stayed here with our dog and had a lovely time. The furniture could use a bit of upgrading as we could feel the wood frame when we sat on the couch but the decadent smores ingredients they left for were awesome. I haven't had smores since I was a teenager and these were excellent. Also, the... more
