Found the Wayside Inn by searching in area. Wanted something close to Ocean Avenue. This place was exactly what we were looking for. The room was spacious. Living room separate from bedroom. We parked our car and only used it once when we explored Carmel Valley. Would definitely recommend this Inn to anyone who wants to be close to everything!

Carmel is a charming place to visit and the Wayside Inn was a charming, conveniently located place to stay. The Inn is just a short walk from Carmel's main shopping street, which leads down to the beach. We had a lovely suite which comprised a spacious lounge with fireplace, small kitchen, bathroom and spacious bedroom. Our room was accessed from... More

We have stayed at several of the smaller hotels in Carmel. This one is our favorite. The inn is small and cozy, but the rooms are generous in size. We had a separate living room with a eating area (they deliver breakfast each morning), bedroom and good size bathroom. Location was a block from the main street and walking distance... More

This older property has one good thing going for it - its location on the edge of Carmel's shopping district with its multitude of shops, restaurants, jewelry stores and art gallerys. This positive, howver, is a negative as well, as the location is at a stop signed intersection with cars and trucks stopping and then accelerating at the stop sign... More

Thank you for your review. Our convenient location next to downtown Carmel can sometimes bring noise from the many visitors that come to our area. On most days the shops and restaurants close by 9-10pm, but once in a while there are days when there seem to be more people out and about a little later. One of the exciting... More

The Wayside is great place to use as a base of operations if you are taking on the wine tasting Carmel has to offer, not too mention the shopping and walking on the beach! The rooms are always immaculate and the service is excellent.

This hotel is in a great location, easy walking to restaurants and shopping in this charming small village. Our room was huge with a kitchenette area, large sliding door closet, fireplace, and double door balcony. Room was well appointed and it was nice to be in a "designer" room that has its own personality and had not morphed into the... More

My wife and I were staying at the Hyatt Regency in Monterey and visited Carmel on a trip - we loved it and decided to spend a couple of days in Carmel. The Wayside Inn seemed like a great place so we checked in for two days. The good stuff: a. You are a short walk from the town centre,... More

This is a wonderful little Inn to stay in the heart of Carmel, CA. Just 3 blocks and you are in the center of town enjoying all the wonderful shops and restaurants. The Inn is quaint, well managed, accommodating staff and very reasonable. Parking can be difficult, but there are spaces for one car per room. The rooms are large... More

We just spent two nights at the Wayside. We had a Deluxe King Suite. It was 2 completely separate rooms, bedroom and living room. This was great as we keep different hours sometimes. The mattress was awesome. The "Kitchenette" was just a big cabinet with a mini-fridge, toaster, coffee maker and cups. It was odd in that the toilet and... More

My boyfriend and I decided to spend our two year anniversary on vacation, but couldn't pick a place until the last minute, leaving us with few choices on where to stay.
