We pick a difference place to stay each year on an annual trip to the Carmel area and this year it was Dolphin inn. I think they do a great job of making this place as good as it can be with this typical Carmel-style motel design. The room was large compared to others we've stayed in, there are thick... More

Just a few blocks off Ocean Avenue, the property is a little older, but clean and well-maintained, it is easily walkable to great restaurants and all the must-see shops. Stayed in a cute, double room with fireplace, reasonable price too. Very clean and extremely quiet. Nice continental breakfast delivered to your door in the morning after you've filled out the... On this trip we stayed in 5 different hotels and B and B places - this was a great part of our visit to Carmel. My wife and me checked in, got an immediate upgrade to a view room (for our anniversary celebration). The balcony view of the ocean was excellent. NOTE: nice work! For an older hotel it was... More

I selected the Dolphin Inn largely based on TripAdvisor reviews. Big mistake. This property is basically a 1960s era motel, "not updated" as one of the staff cheerfully admitted. We don't need ADA-compliant facilities, but I don't know how this place avoided the law. We do want, however, a clean, comfortable room, and this didn't meet that standard. The bed... More

My wife and I stay here on our way down the Pacific Coast for a night. The room was spacious with all we needed, although just a little tired. Staff were very helpful and courteous and the breakfast was fine. The location was great with everything you would want within walking distance. In all an affordable, pleasant hotel in an... More

We stayed one night at the Dolphin, and immediately had a great experience with Ricky at the front desk who made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. After a wonderful day we were ready to be in the room. I did ask for a fan so I could have "white noise" which Ricky promptly brought up. The... More

We stayed at this Inn whilst on a road trip around California. We booked a deluxe king room with a large flat screen TV and a fireplace. The room had a fridge which was stocked with complimentary water. When we checked-in the guy behind the desk was really friendly and very welcoming. He also gave us some great info. about... More

Great location, helpful staff. Comfortable bed, but other furniture is worn out and in need of updating. Patio chairs are inexpensive plastic. Rooms have gas fireplaces and there is a small clean pool. Adequate parking, and a friendly bar attached to the office. A simple breakfast is delivered to your room in a cooler. The hotel key will get you... More
