Lovely, large rooms, beautiful interior. We had 2 attached rooms which worked well with kids. The hotel is somewhat pricey, but that is to be expected in Carmel. It is located 1 street from the lovely town centre and within walking distance from many restaurants. The choc chip cookies at reception are delicious!

Nice Motel/Hotel well located near to the centre of Carmel. Personally felt it was a bit expensive for the quality of lodging but room was a good size and had a private balcony..when I finally worked out the trick of opening the door...I think only 4 rooms have those...slightly odd breakfast arrangement , you pick what you want and leave... The Inn made our anniversary special, enjoying wine in front of the fireplace in our room. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the fresh cookies in the lobby too!! The inn is located a few blocks from the main intersection, but it is a pleasant walk.

We really liked our stay because what counts a lot for us is a clean room, friendly staff and to feel that they are happy to have you as guests. If you want luxury, you can pay more and stay elsewhere. It's a motel style but it is charming, heated pool, breakfast bag delivered to the room (yogourt, pastries, fruits,... More

Pulled off the PCH into Carmel without a reservation and found this hotel. Huge room, clean and tidy. Plenty of boutique shops and art galleries if that is what floats your boat. Lovely beach. Continental breakfast served in a cool box and left outside your door. Nice pub with friendly staff and good food in an adjoining property.

We drove from San Fran to LA a couple of weeks ago and stopped off in Carmel en route to have an overnight here. Lots of inns in this small town, which are really upmarket motels, ranging in price from $120 to $300 per night, in fact The Dolphin was at the lower end but after a thorough recky, by... More

A well located motel - easy walk to town and beach. Room was spacious and the fireplace was a lovely touch and appreciated as the weather was cool. Nice to have breakfast delivered at the door. Nice comfortable bed. Would definately recommend.

You could do better. Don't let the name fool you, it is a motel. The staff is very pleasant and the check in area looks newly renovated. They always had coffee/tea, apples and cookies. But the rooms need to be renovated. I think they spent all of their money on the massive TV in the room. We didn't have a... More

This is a motel . The people are very friendly and the room is cosy but it needs updating . The breakfast is brought to your door in a cool bag in the morning and consists of cereal fruit and a pastry It is in a very good location being a short walk to the shops restaurants and beach. The... More

We've stayed at several cozy places nearby and the Dolphin Inn offers the same affordable quality and comfort. Our room was tidy with everything we appreciate including a good shower, a Keurig coffee maker and a gas fireplace. The bed was so comfortable, we were shocked one morning to find we had slept 2 hours past our normal wake time.... More
