I had a really unpleasant experience when I called today to inquire about vacancy at Forest Ledge. Without explanation I was told they only have rooms at Lamp Lighter. I thought I have dialed the wrong number. But that is ok, frankly, because I later on figured out that the 2 B&B must be owned/managed by the same company. But... More

This is such a beautiful place to stay. The owner, Gabriella is so nice and welcomming. We only had one night in this place, but wished we could stay many more days. The rooms are spacious and luxurious decorated. The garden is stunning, it's so beautiful when the lights are on. Truly a paradise. More

This is our second year in a row staying here and there will be many more years to come. Last year we were married on Carmel Beach and the wedding party stayed at the places in the Forest Lodge and our family stayed at their other property, the Lamp Lighter Inn. Both were perfect locations and Inge and Melissa are... More

Charming, while slightly dated cabins. Their small size puts evident limits on storage, but the small kitchen is practical, and the bathroom was adequate. The key here lies in knowing what you get, and be prepared for charm, instead of expecting a modern hotel infrastructure. No air-conditioning, so if it's sunny, the cabins get warm, However, they air out quickly... More

The outdoor space at the Lamp Lighter was fantastic. The location was perfect too. I would recommend your Inn to others, but I would not recommend the Garrett Loft at the Forest Lodge (another property of the Lamplighter Inn). The stained glass windows, while beautiful, did not have shades. The nice outdoor lights on the central patio area were not... More

First of all, I would like to thank you for the review and for the kind words concearning the Lamp Lighter Inn. More importantly I would like to let you know how much we apperciate the advice about the coverings overe the stained glass window. With an issue such as this, I apperciate the constructive advice and we will fix... More

My friends and I spent two nights in the Garrett Loft...each evening free wine and snacks are provided in the hotel's main courtyard as well as continental breakfast each morning. Our "hostess", Peggy, greeted us each evening and morning and she was eager to make things perfect for us, make us comfortable, and provide any little service for us that... More

Forest Lodge and her sister property in Carmel (The Lamplighter Inn) are both owned and run by the same management. We thought we'd booked the L.I. but when we arrived at reception we were told our cottage was a few blocks away. We were not disappointed. In fact the F.L. is in a quieter location and the cottages are better... More

This was the neatest place to stay. We stayed in the loft for three nights and it was like staying in a high-class cabin in the trees. The bathroom was so large and nice. Counter space was a little minimalistic but I did my Budget Travel Travel tip that was published in their magazine: Set up the ironing board for... More

that this B&B was bang right at a 5 way stop I would not have booked it. In addition it is far too expensive for a location like this. For a poorly breakfast you have to walk to the sister hotel which is not very convenient either. We did not like this place. More
